She surprised him with a welcoming hug, holding him so tightly that he began gasping for air.
"What are you so happy about?"
"You're finally back. I have a reason to be happy"

He liked how cheerful she was. Only if she knew that he had stayed home all week, waiting for his bruises to fade. It wasn't noticeable though, because he had used a good amount of foundation to cover them up.
