Tilly's POV
I told Jack that we should discuss this upstairs and I grew more nervous every step I took.
"I'm very excited to know what this is." He says walking towards his bedroom door.
We sit on his bed and I try to collect myself before I say anything but it's not working.
"So I was thinking earlier. What can I do over the summer to keep me occupied. Something that I would enjoy. A project or something I could work on."
"Yeah. So what is it?" He asks and I pause for a moment.
"I want to start a YouTube channel." I smile.
"This isn't a joke right?" Jack asks.
"No. I'm serious. Just for the summer." I say. "Can you help me?"
"Of course!" He says cheerfully. "What's the idea though?" He asks more seriously.
"DIY, summer video ideas?" I question.
"Sounds great. We should collab over the whole summer." He suggests.
"This is so exciting. Can we look for ideas for a first video?" I ask and Jack pulls out his laptop to search around for ideas and sort me out a page on YouTube.
**
The next morning Jack drives us to target to pick up a few things for both our videos that we have decided will come weekly. After we are done we head to Jack's to film his video and I am appointed cameraman.
Having Jack as a friend is great because it's at times like this where he will support me and help instead of tell me it's a bad idea and laugh.
Before this I knew YouTube was complicated but I didn't know it was this hard. From lighting to angles to background drops. Everything is key for a good video luckily I have Jack to supply me with everything I need to get started.
After filming for three hours me and Jack head out to the beach front to grab an ice cream since it's a hot day.
"What did you get up to this weekend. I knocked and you weren't home." Jack asks on the way back and I realise he doesn't know about what happened at all.
"It was good. I went to some new places." I say trying to sound as truthful as possible.
"Oh. Where did you go?" He asks and I pretend I didn't hear him. "Tilly." He waves in my face.
"Oh um to visit Luke." I say.
"I thought you had been to his house before." He questions.
"Here's the thing."
"Oh no."
"Mum came home from work and offered me a year at boarding school or a year in England with my aunt and I mucked things up with Luke big time before he went on tour so I had to sort things out and see if he still likes me after our break up and turns out he doesn't."
"Five seconds of summer are on tour?!" He asks.
"Really?" I question.
"Sorry. I'm guessing things weren't working well." He says.
"Actually the opposite. They were almost too good to be true."
"And you got scared?" He asks.
"Is it that obvious?" I reply.
"Yes." He says honestly which I'm grateful for.
Not long after we arrive back to our street and I collect my things and head back to my house for the night because tomorrow is now editing day.
When I step foot into my house mum isn't home and a postcard lies on the floor and on the back a message that reads.
I'll be back.
