Oh shit!

My blue eyes snap open, my chest huffing with adrenaline as I snap up in my bed.

My body is tight with a dull ache and covered in a cold sweat. I feel like I can't breathe. Did I black out? How did I get in my bed upstairs? Where are those things?!

"Oh," my dark head whirls around to see the red eyed boy leaning casually against my unpainted wall. "You're awake." He says. I frantically blink my eyes, but when I open them he never vanishes, he's real.

Elle's blues eyes and Elliot's grin are pop in my mind, and I lunge across the bed like my life depends on it. I manage to dodge the red eye boy, surging across the hall to Elliot's room. I stumble around boxes, and drop onto my knees next to his mattress on the floor. Running a pair of shaking hands over my little brother's freckled face. I let out a shaky breath. No blood, no gashes, nothing, he's okay. Just as fast as my relief came it goes, Elle... Elle!

My bare feet rush over the rough hardwood floor, not slowing down at the red eye boy blocking the door.

"Move!" I hiss, shoving him as hard as I can. He doesn't stumble away, but he inches away enough for me to squeeze past him. I run into Elle's room, not slowing down till I know she's okay. Elle's dark head is safe, intact and peacefully on top of her pillow.

I feel like I can breathe again, coming off a high of pure terror. Shutting the door quietly as I can I almost forget about Thing One with red eyes.

"Leave!" A deep voice whispers in my ear. Freezing up by the door I can feel every hair on my body standing on end. The guy is right behind me, his tall body just inches away like a shadow with teeth. I can't be afraid of him... This is all we have left, this is for Elle and Elliot.

"No." I breathe, my heart hammering with fear so hard it might just give up on the spot. I break out into a run for my room, but I don't even near the door as he kicks my feet from under me. My knees bang against the floor, my teeth slapping together as my chin crashes into the scratched floor. Before I have a chance to even gasp in pain, hands tighten around my ankles, nails digging into my skin.

"Ugh!" A cry escapes my mouth, I can hear bone cracking. Is he breaking my ankles?! With that iron grip he suddenly drags me away, I paw pathetically at the hardwood floor, realizing how each claw mark was engraved into the floor. Kicking desperately I try to bottle down a scream for help. I don't want Elle and Elliot to see this, I need them to be safe in their beds.

Hands toss me around, my blue eyes catching the mouth of the main staircase before landing on the ceiling. Red eyes glare down at me, a snarled up nose and a frowning mouth loom over me. His hands knot my wrists together over my head, and his knees hold me in place as they dig into my sides. I'm feel like I'm under a pendulum.

I'm wide open, my skin is burning, waiting for the worse.

"Get off of me!" I struggle to push him off but it feels like I'm under a thousand pound bolder.

"Leave," he growls, his red eyes burning brighter.  "Or I will throw you down the stairs!" My body goes limp with fear under him, my blue eyes widening up at him. I'm scared, I'm terrified, I want someone to help me. But no one is around to help me, I'm the only one left to help Elle and Elliot. There's no one to help me.

"Just me?" I find myself asking, making his brow knit together.

"That's what you say?" His iron grip tightens on my wrists, making me arch off the floor in agony. Tears burn my eyes, and I muffle a bubbling scream. My scream will have my little brother and sister running straight into danger. So with all my strength I hold it in, protecting them from this red eye monster on top of me.

"You're just going to hurt just me? Not them?" I ask in between heaves of pain. His face slacks for a minute, red eyes looking down at me like I'm nuts. Out of the two of us I'm the crazy one apparently.

"We don't hurt kids." He finally says what I want to hear. Before I can breathe a sigh of relief he lowers his face till our noses graze each other. I fight against him desperately, suddenly scared he's going to bite my nose off. "We kill people who buy our house." He breathes.

I freeze, my blood running cold as those red eyes brighten with hate. He's going to kill me. He's really going to kill me.

My body isn't pinned on the hardwood anymore. Air rushes around me, then it hits something. Steps jab my body as it rolls down the stairs. I fight to straighten up, but I'm falling head first.
