Recap: I crawled into bed, the sheets were so soft under my skin, I stretched out, relaxed and drifted into a deep, dreamless sleep. I woke up in a rustling, loud mess. I muttered and got out of bed, I walked into the kitchen to see my mom yelling into a telephone, sayings things like she couldn’t believe he left for a trip without notifying her, and how mad she was about it. Guess dad went on another “business trip.” Awesome, at least I get to leave today myself.

Chapter Two: Chinese Take Out

I needed to escape my mother's complaining and sulking. I took a long hot shower, and got dressed. I packed absolutely everything in my closet, so I went for a pair of sofees and a comfy shirt that read, “In n’ Out Burger California” I wasn’t really into burgers, but, it’s what I had. I said my goodbyes quickly and lugged everything into my car. I had to meet the jet at the usual airport, but instead I had to drive onto the runway. I searched my address book for Austin’s contact, and dialed her number. It rang a few times and she answered, her voice filled the speakers of my car and I lowered the audio volume. It was way too early in the morning for this many questions. Before she even had time to start, I cut in, “Hey, I’m on my way to the jet, I’ll be there in about an hour, or an hour and a half, so be there! On the runway, don’t go inside the airport, alright?” She assured me she got it, and we hung up. I got to the runway and wondered where my car would go while I was gone for the month. I drove up to the man on the runway and said, “Hi, my name is Autumn Buntler, I’m here because my father reserved a jet for me?” He quickly took acknowledgement to who I was an ushered me towards the jet. Then I asked where I would keep my car. He told me he would put it in a holding facility located next to the airport, I shrugged and tossed him my keys, and he looked way too excited to drive it. I mean, it wasn’t a bad car if you want to look at it that way. It was a Mercedes Black Series SL 64, my father’s “old” car. He hurriedly lugged my luggage to the jet’s storage, wished me a safe trip and ran off to my car. I climbed in and met the pilot, thanked him for this private trip and sat back in my seat. It was nice and cozy, totally my style. I wonder if this jet was mine… my stomach interrupted my thoughts, I forgot I hadn’t gotten to eat breakfast, I asked an attendant if there was any breakfast to be served, she told me that there would be eggs and bacon soon enough and not to worry. I sat back down in time to hear the pilot say, “Passenger, please be seated we are ready for takeoff.” I noted how he said “passenger” instead of “passengers” I giggled and slid into my seat. After the liftoff I sniffed out a slight scent of bacon and my stomach reacted. Growling, it was so loud, I looked around to see if anyone heard it, but only out of habit, I knew no one was here except for the three of us anyways. Still, what if the flight attendant was near? After a few minutes she came out of the back with a gold tray of delicious food, I couldn’t wait to dig into! A few stacked pancakes, eggs, bacon, toast and juice. Ah! Yum, I reached for the toast, and chewed slowly, you know, you can’t be unmannerly eating… No matter how hungry you are! After she retreated back into her cabinet, I scarped down the rest of my eggs and bit a few pieces of bacon, leaving two pancakes. I was way too full to eat anyways. Soon after, I got a bit restless and seemed to get bored. I took out my phone to see if any movies would be good, but in a few minutes I was asleep. I awoke to the pilot’s voice on the speaker, “Passenger please bring any tray table open back to it’s upright position, and please fasten your seatbelt, we will be landing in Las Vegas in roughly five minutes.” I gathered my thoughts and quickly did as I was told. I looked out the window and saw a desert, a barren land full of sand. It was only the beginning of the day; everything livened up by night time, anyways. The landing was a bump, or two and a skidded halt. It was time to get off. I searched outside through the windows to see Austin. And there she was, gorgeously clad in a tight black tank, with some bleached denim shorts and just a nice little black ankle wrap stiletto for a flare. She jumped up when she saw me and ran over, “Autumn, hey! Damn, girl, you’ve gotten prettier, just don’t hog attention during all those parties.” She gave me a devilish wink, I didn’t know about any parties… The attendants grabbed my luggage and placed it neatly in Austin’s Bently trunk. “Awh, Austini, I love your car! It definitely beats my Porsche by that much.” I inched my index finger and thumb apart, we giggled. “I missed you a whole bunch too! Want to head off?” Austin nodded and we loaded into her car, nice and cool. “Hey, so I was wondering what kind of clothes you brought with you, you know… just so I know.” Oh, I thought, this can’t be good… “Mm… I brought lots of tanks and shorts, flip flops and sneakers.” Even though I emptied my closet, I didn’t bring any dresses, besides, they all seemed like last year’s trend. “Ugh! No dresses? At all!?” She was annoyed. “Nope, sorry Austini. Why?” She sighed, “Just cause, you know, I wanted to take you to a few parties, get you used to a normal teenager’s life, instead of being cooped up at home being an angel.” She winked, “don’t worry though, I’ll take you shopping. And I’ll be sure to let my daddy know we’re going on a huge spree, he won’t mind for your wardrobe price either. If we charge your card, your parents will think you’re in a whirl of trouble, or even think you’re buying drugs or something.” She wriggled her eyebrows and we both laughed. “If you say it’s alright, but let’s not go too overboard, kay?” She gave me her word, and I knew I shouldn’t have believed it, in half an hour we were at the mall going crazy over short little mini-dresses and fabulous stilettos and makeup! Everything was gorgeous here, and we bought the entire mall. Definitely went overboard, but hey, shopping with Austini was fun, it was fast paced and hectic, but in the good way. Not like the way I shopped with my friends back at home, it was Los Angeles, amazing stores and all, but no one clicked with me like Austin does. After our long adventure shopping, my stomach roared like a monster, I’d forgotten I hadn’t eaten since the jet ride here this morning. That was almost seven hours ago! “Hey Austini, I’m kind of hungry, want to hit the food court? Or do you want to grab a bite to go?” She was thoughtful for a minute, “Mm… a bite to go! Want Chinese? Or Italian?” We settled on Chinese and head off for home. Well, her home. We drove up the driveway to greet some creepy bodyguards; did I mention what her dad did? Of course I did, that’s why there are bodyguards here. They let us in easy, and one helped unload my luggage. Her house was a castle. No other words could describe it; it was paved with cement colored ragged stones, had a terrace for each bedroom window and had a pond in the front yard. Colorful fish! Aw, how cute! We got inside to eat more Chinese food than we could fit into our stomachs. We ordered enough for about six people, and if her dad joined us, it was still about two times the normal serving we should eat. We sat at the table, and she flicked on the television, she caught sight of a show named, “Drinks” hm… I’ve never actually heard of it. “Hey Austini? What’s this show about?” She was quiet, “Oh, what? Oh, this show? It’s a reality TV show, and it’s just about these people always partying, and drinking, going to clubs, having girls over, or guys over, things like that.” To me, it sounded pretty pointless, but when I watched it, it was pretty funny. There was pointless drama and so much fighting, it was actually hilarious watching what they said and how people dealt with each other. There was pointless shouting and fights every second of each day. It was so stupid, but it got my mind off of my family. "Hey, Autumn, how's your uptight family doing nowadays?" "Oh, you know Austin. They're same ole same ole. No one in this family can really change… you know. Always have to be perfect." I sighed, "Doesn't that drive you nuts Bunty?" I heaved a heavy sigh, "Aus, you know I hate that nickname you gave me. Don't use it. Please." "Awh, does it bug you Bunty." She put much more emphasis in it this time I just rolled my eyes at her. "Hey, chin up! I know what would cheer us up! Well- you up!" Uh oh.... Brace for it... "Let's head on to a party ! I know this guy, house. Huge. He can hook us up with people drinks, some good met-... I mean good music ?" She left that on a questioning note. "Please  Bunty ?" Sighing, I just said, "Fine, let's go." She squealed. I know I'm gonna regret this decision, but somehow. I think it's gonna bring some excitement into my life.

a/: gah, I haven't even written the third chapter yet... I don't know. well, if you guys are confused, Autumn is the daughter visiting from California, with the uptight family, Austin is her one true best friend. The nicknames for Austin are: Austini, Aus. and the nicknames for Autumn is just mostly Bunty.
