The students gasped, sputtering and looking around each other. One of them, hidden behind the rest of the group, spoke up nervously. “W-what? Ms Crocker? You’re alive? You’re not allergic to cats? What the hell is going on?” The rest of the group agreed, not at all pleased. “Yeah, what the fuck? We saw you go out on a stretcher, the ambulance took you. How the hell are you back here?”

Ms Crocker just smirked; setting the cat down then brushed herself off. “You kids aren’t the only ones who enjoy a bit of pranking.”

The students just sputtered, Rose and Dave staring at each other as they realized that the principal, a forty five year old woman whose life was school, and had no life outside of that, had gotten the best of them. Rose couldn’t wrap her head around it, she had gone over this plan hundreds of times, it was flawless. What had gone wrong?

One by one, the cats started filing out of the conference room, back into the office, going up to Rose and rubbing against her legs. She sighed, picking up one, they were mostly her cats after all, half of them anyway. She wasn’t sure where the rest came from. She looked around, realizing that, of their group of seven students, only six were present. She shared a look with Dave, who looked around as well, noting that his best friend, John, was gone.

He couldn’t wrap his head around it, John was a pranking master, this whole thing had been his idea-. Wait.

Dave huffed, realizing what must have happened. His suspicions were confirmed a minute later when John walked out, herding in the last couple cats and grinned. “Oh hey guys, fancy meeting you here!” Dave just glared at his best friend, swearing under his breath to get him back one of these days.

John just giggled manically “Oh chill out Dave! Ms Crocker’s totally a better pranker than me! She is my aunt after all; I just had to let her in on this.”

Dave just huffed, crossing his arms over his chest and glaring at John. Seconds later, the final bell rang, and the group wasted no time in getting out of suddenly too crowded office. Rose shook her head, hooking her arm with her brother’s, pulling him out of the room before he would do anything that he’d really regret.

John turned to his aunt, the principal, and the two broke into giggles. As they started to compose themselves, Ms Crocker smiled, “So, what are we going to do with these cats?”
