This is it. This is the moment they had been planning for months.
The group of about seven seniors had carefully thought out their plan, and it had taken over a month to get everything together. A dozen cats, and packets upon packets of catnip.
There plan was simple, but effective, to stuff the catnip into the principal, Ms. Crocker's, jacket pockets when she was out of the room, and then wait for her to put her jacket back on and release the cats. They expected that the cats would then hurry up to Ms Crocker, surrounding her in twelve meowing cats. It would be a cute, fun, harmless prank.
At least that's what they expected.
They had picked two students from their group to go in and set up the catnip, one girl, Rose, and one guy, Dave, to go into the office. They were siblings and worked in perfect sync; one would distract the principal and get her out of the room, while the other would stuff her pockets full of the nip.
It was easy, Rose pretending that she had been having a serious issue with one of her teachers. Ms. Crocker nodded, a worried look settling onto her face as she followed after her out into the hall, so that they could talk without the secretaries listening in.
Dave, who was always on the good side of every single staff member in the building, was granted access to the principal’s desk, saying that he had to deliver a confidential note. Once the backs of everyone present were turned, he hurriedly began stuffing catnip into the Crocker’s pockets. Once he was done, Dave brushed himself off, a neutral expression falling back onto his face and he nonchalantly walked out of the office, past the principal and Rose. He gave her a nod and she quickly smiled at the principal, telling her it was no big deal, and that she had to get going and would talk to her again later. Ms Crocker, confused by her sudden departure, went back into her office. Scowling at the air vents, which continually pumped out frigid air, she pulled on her jacket, feeling something within her pockets.
Just as she started to pull out catnip, looking at it questioningly, the doors of the office burst open, a hoard of cats bounding in, headed straight for the principal.
The group of students hid around the corner, giggling and smirking to themselves as soon as they let the cats in. They froze though, their blood running cold when they heard a blood curdling scream, then some yelling, “Call an ambulance! Get an epi-pen! Hurry!” The students warily looked around the corner, into the office windows, to see none other than their principal, lying on the floor, nearly covered with cats.
One secretary was frantically dialing on the phone, while the other two were pulling cats off of their principal, putting them into the conference room. The shrill scream of sirens could be heard in the distance, drawing nearer by the second.
