"Jaime-bear, it's time for school." My mother said, closing my door as she left my room. She was dressed for her job as a real-estate agent. I was playing angry birds on my iPod. I got out of bed and went to my closet. Too cheery. Too smilely. That just has no words to describe it's awfulness. I thought, going through my closet. Finally, I found a Paramore t-shirt and some black jeans. Topped with my brother's leather jacket and black vans I was ready for school. I didn't bother to brush my hair or put on any make-up.

"I'll drop you off on my way to work." my mother said, pouring coffee into her thermos. I grabbed a piece of toast to satisfy my mother. She turned and glanced up and down at me. Her mouth opened, like she wanted to comment, but she held her tongue.

"You're going to Dr. Johnson's office at 6. Don't forget." She said grabbing her keys. I grabbed my backpack and went out the door. We rode to school in silence. I thought I'd be nervous, but all I felt was bored.

"Have a good day." my mother said as I climbed out of the car. I walked into school ignoring the stares. I'm 5'6 so I blend in pretty well, but not when everyone knew who to look for. I went to my locker and saw a group of my friends waiting there with a bouquet of flowers. I quickly turned around and went out to the bleachers.

There were a few druggies, jocks, nerds, and nobodies scattered, but they were alone or in pairs. Peacful-ish. I sat near the bottom and put head phones in my ears. The world was blocked out as Avenged Stevenfold blasted into my head. I didn't know the lyrics, I just liked the noise.

I sat on the bleaches listening to another song when I felt a presence next to me. I opened my eyes to a girl about my age, who was in the process of seat dancing on the bleachers. Her hot pink headphones made it clear she had blocked out the world. Her movements whipped around her thick, blonde hair around. It had clumps of color all over. Her pale skin was slightly exaggerated by her black skinny jeans. Her jacket was bright blue with a shirt that said "I'm just one big ray of f#@king sunshine" and her vans were highlighter yellow. She whipped her head around and saw me with surprised green eyes.

"Shit! You scared me!" she shouted above her music. A few people stared and I took out my headphones.

"I'm taking really loud, aren't I?!" she shouted. I stared and nodded. She yanked out her headphones and stuck out her hand.

"Hi, I'm Erica Wright. I just moved here." she said grinning. I was a little taken aback by her attitude, but I shook her hand.

"Jay." I said, looking at her rainbow nails. She scooted closer.

"JJ, nice name. Are you a sophomore?" she asked. I loved her voice. Of course, I stutter out an answer.

"J-junior, what about you?" I croaked.

"Cool, me too. What's your schedule? Here's mine." Erica said, shoving a paper at me. I looked at her schedule. No classes together, except lunch. I told her and gave back the paper. She frowned at the page.

"Well, that sucks. Are you going to be here for lunch?" she asked, with a hopeful smile. I felt my heart beating like crazy and I started to blush.

"I'll be here for lunch." I said, looking away as the bell rang. We both jumped up.

"Well, JJ, see ya at lunch!" she said, kissing my cheek and taking off for her first class. My cheek tingled were she had pressed her lips. I smiled as I dragged myself to science.

My good mood didn't last. Let's just say I got a few stares in the halls. I had put my earbuds back in, but I still had eyes, damn preps. I spaced through science, history, math, and English. I honestly can't tell you a thing that happened, except I was never called on. Finally it was lunch, so I went out to the bleachers. I had almost forgotten about this morning, but thinking about Erica made me blush, all the events(yeah, its sad thats what I consider events) rushing into my head.

"Jamie, is that you?" a quiet voice asked me. I looked up to see my friend Rachel staring at me.

"It's Jay, but yeah." I said, looking into her doe eyes. She bit her lip and looked towards the cafeteria.

"Do you want to sit with us?" she asked, fiddling with her sweater.

"No." I said, closing my eyes. She seemed stunned as she whispered something and walked away. I opened up my backpack to get some pain pills. Hey, they were prescribed to me and I'm allowed to take one every six hours. So, I drank some coke and popped two or three. I opened my sketch book and started drawing the oak tree in front of me. I was halfway done when someone jumped into the seat next to me. I jumped as Erica smiled at me,
