13. Marcus' House

Chapter 13: Marcus' House

After about 10 minutes I had achieved getting the box into Alfie’s car, admittedly with his help but still.

I smirked at Alfie and he shook his head and chuckled. “Fine, fine. Maybe you are stronger then…”

“You know I am!” I stuck out my tongue at him.

Alfie frowned and looked behind me. I turned round, seeing what he was looking at when I saw Marcus, Chai and Alfie.

Marcus and Chai had smirks on their faces while they looked at Alfie and I, while Joe looked slightly annoyed as he looked between us.

“Where have you guys been?” Alfie asked with a hint of amusement in his voice, obviously figuring out their plan to ditch us and leave me and Alfie alone.

“Oh ya’know…just around town…” Chai smirked.

I blushed as he winked at me.

I looked at Joe and arched my eyebrow at him in question as to why he was angry; he just shook his head in reply, shrugging off the topic.

“How about we head back to mine?” Marcus suggested.

We all seemed to agree and the boys all got in Alfie’s car and Joe and I made our way to mine.

I started up the car and followed behind Alfie’s car all the way to Marcus’ house.  It was a fairly big house, painted white with a black door and stone steps reaching up to the front door. It was semi-detached in the middle of a few other houses. We parked just outside his house and got out, locking my car I got out my handbag and threw my keys into it.

So far I had really enjoyed being in Brighton, it was a nice little seaside town that was really peaceful and relaxing, but it still had enough going on that you would never get bored.  I could see why the boys chose to stay here and not move to London or LA like all the other fairly successful youtubers.

Marcus unlocked the door and let us in “My parents are out at the moment, and my sisters are at university” he explained why the house was empty.

A dark, tabby cat slowly prowled up to Marcus and jumped into his arms. Marcus started stroking it adoringly. I couldn’t help but giggle.

Marcus led us into his living room that had 2 very comfy looking couches, a loveseat, a beanbag and an armchair along with a big flatscreen TV.

We all sat down somewhere and as the other boys started up a conversation I couldn’t help but continue to notice Joe’s tensed mood.

I nudged him with my elbow and whispered “Joe, what’s wrong?”

He looked over at me then nodded towards Alfie, then back to me. I rolled my eyes. “We aren’t dating!” I laughed.

Unfortunately I managed to say this a little too loud which attracted the attention of Alfie. Joe stood up and in a stiff voice aimed at Alfie said “Alfie, can I talk to you outside a minute?”

Alfie’s gaze flickered down to me for a second, he gulped then nodded, following Joe outside the room into the corridor and shut the door behind them.

I could hear mumbled voices but couldn’t make out what they were saying.

“Looks like Joe’s is getting a bit annoyed with all the flirting going on between you and Alfie” Chai wiggled his eyebrows suggestively which made Marcus laugh.

I opened my mouth in shock and struggled to say “Fl-flirting? W-what! That’s ridiculous! Alfie doesn’t even like me like that!” I spoke, sure of myself.

Marcus and Chai exchanged a look then their focus came back to me.

“I wouldn’t be so sure…” Marcus trailed off.

“Come on girl, you must be stupid to not realize it!” Chai said in high pitched voice, mimicking a girl.

I laughed and shook my head.

Alfie couldn’t like me as more than a friend…right? He couldn’t like me the same way I like him, could he..?

A/N: Sorry i have taken so long to upload! Been sorta busy these past few days and left it a bit alte into the evenings.
