*Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to Miraculous Ladybug*
She is beautiful as she is breathtaking.
Miraculous as she would describe it, but to me it was a different meaning entirely.
Ladybug.
The only lady-in-disguise that has stolen my heart since fight number one.
I know she does not look at me that way, I sense she has taken a liking to me. My charm can do that sometimes, though she just doesn't show it too much with that positive attitude and loveable, sweet as candy smile of hers. She has this way of bringing me to my knees in adoration. She is like no other. To me, there could be nobody like her in the whole entire world.
Her eyes blue as the heavens and hair jet black as the night sky, she is my lady. My damsel that fights to save our city, side by side with me, day or night.
I always wonder who she is under that polka-dotted mask of hers. The girl of my dreams. The reason I wake up in the morning and the person who can accept this part of me. Though at times, I wonder if ever she would find out who I really was...would she accept that part of me also?
A guy who is more to himself than with anyone else. I do have friends, slowly I have gained them, but there is still this hole in my heart that I seem to have lost and was unsure how I was going to fill it with all that has happened in my life. But in the end I did not know when it was all going to change. That is....
Until I met her.
Without the black leather mask, she does not know me, the other me, who I think is more different than my superhero-counterpart. She seemed to have chosen her fate to become a superhero as did I, sadly, keeping our civilian identities a secret was part of the package of becoming a superhero of my city of Paris. Plus, fighting right along side her was more than enough to make my heart beat with excitement and joy, wishing our time together would never end. She was a fearless, de-evilizing angel that no one could ever defeat cause she always finds a way to bring back happiness into everyone's lives.
Though if she were ever to find out my identity, there is one thing that I fear most.
Rejection.
Maybe she won't accept the person I am as of now, whether it be in all my superhero glory or as the honest-to-god normal and all-around nice guy that I am known to be. Perhaps she will hate me for what I really am, a regular guy who suddenly happened to attain a magical piece of jewelry with having the tendency to joke out hilarious cat puns. Trust me, they are funny.
Truthfully, being Chat Noir is the best person I could have ever hope to become. I am free to do anything with nothing to hold me back from transforming into the slick-on-my-feet, funny-as-I-am-charming, and might I say confident-as-can-be hero...except for the occasional villains that Hawkmoth keeps akumatizing our way. Nevertheless, it is nothing but a day's work in the kicking-butt department with my unbreakable staff, destructive power and of course, my dear partner, Ladybug by my side.
Together, we are unbeatable.
But without the cat-like mask that shields my identity, that irreplaceable miraculous ring I wear on my finger and Plagg, my lazy, Camembert-loving kwami, I am nothing special. Just a normal guy whose life is not as exciting as it seems to be.
When I'm not out saving the world, I happily live my days as an occasional model and average high school student that I have always hoped to be attending with awesome friends that I have managed to make on my own. It wasn't easy at first. Some I have made due to my friendless status, despite the fact that the only person and friend I knew at the time was Chloe Bourgeois, the mayor's daughter, who everyone occasionally-to-always hates and gets bullied by on occasion. Sad, I know. Others were due to misunderstandings, again caused by Chloe, which resulted in a very bad first impression. Eventually with a little advice from a cool guy who sits next to me, I was able to be honest and show my true feelings to that person about the situation, and surprisingly I gained a new friend through my own actions by the end of that fateful, rainy day.
As I live my life the way I want through my father's standards, I continue to await the moment where trouble runs amok on the streets of Paris where I'll eventually be ready to save the day with her again.
My Lady.
When I finally discover who she is...I'll know exactly who that person is who has filled my lost heart with life and purpose again. One day...I'll find her. Just you wait.
