A girl with bright purple hair, green cat ears and a candy-colored coat with black stockings and a boy with the same purple hair but with green rabbit ears and a light red scarf and a dark red jacket looked at the black and white mansion before them. Lukas eyed the rabbit topiaries surrounding the mansion with a look of distaste, "Germaine really over-did herself." he commented, "Just because she really likes rabbits doesn't mean she's antagonizing your.... 'style!'" Margaret aired quotation marks using her fingers to emphasize the word, "style", Lukas frowned then just sighed. "Should we open the door??" Margaret asked, "Won't hurt us anyway." Lukas replied and pushed the tall oak doors which were painted to look like black and white checkers boards. The doors gave a loud creak, Margaret looked around at the portraits and silhouete cut-outs of black or white bunnies, the hallway was lit by chandeliers that gave out a pleasant orange glow that bathed the room. Lukas closed the door which gave a loud crash! Margaret cringed at the noise and ran, her shoes clip-cloping all the way. "Margaret!" Lukas yelled and chased after his sister, his scarf flapping behind him. Margaret stopped next to a large shelf full of crystal balls, leaning on it, panting.

"What were you thinking?!"

"It was really loud, that's what!"

"Still, it was pointless to run away, you could get lost!"

"I've been expecting you guys! What took you so long?"

The two siblings leaped in shock and quickly turned their heads to the source of the voice and found Germaine just standing there and waving at them, she was shorter than Margaret was and had white hair, red eyes, a large black coat which was far too big for her and could fit a grown man, and bare black stockinged feet. "Avarice and Aeced need your help! You will find them in the attic, by the way." Lukas attemped to look like he didn't just criticize Germaine's choice of decoration and breathed a sigh of releif when he realized that Germaine can't read minds. "Something wrong?" Germaine asked, "No! Of course not! Why would there be anything wrong?" Lukas grabbed Margaret's hand and dashed off, leaving Germaine wearing a look of confusion.

After what seemed to be a millenia, they found the attic which, of course, was located at the highest floor. Margaret opened the grey door to the attic which gave an ominous creak. Lukas looked around nervously at the dark room before them, "The twins will probably jump from out of no-where and scare us again." Lukas muttered darkly, the Constantinople Twins- Avarice and Aeced- were what you would classify as poltergeists, mischievous spirits who love playing practical jokes on humans, which generally befits them both, even when they were both alive.

And like clockwork, Margaret and Lukas felt a shaft of cold wind blow through them and a loud "BOO!" Margaret shrieked and backed off, tirggering a clevely placed trip wire to activate a bicycle horn to pop out of no-where and go "HONK! HONK!" Margaret of course, screamed louder and huddled up into a ball, the cat ears snuggled onto her head threatening to fall off.

The lights turned on, and a girl and a boy with blue hair and transparent skin materialized out of thin air next to Lukas and were laughing ghostly and shrill laughs. The girl was wearing a large coat , which was tattered and worn out on the edges, an eyepatch over her right eye, and appeared to have applied just a tad bit too much lipstick, while the boy wore pink-tinted glasses and had on a grey, tight looking polo with a pink necktie that had appeared to be ripped at the edges and there was a lare hole on the left side of his shirt.

"Did you see the look on her face????"

"Hell yeah, I did!"

"The trip wire never gets old!!!"

"I know right?"

"AVARICE JANE CONSTANTINOPLE! AECED CONSTANTINOPLE!" Margaret managed to recompose herself and was now shooting glares at the twins, her left eye twitching.

"What is with you two döpplegängers??" Lukas asked, also shooting daggars at the two.

"Did you just call us here to prank us?" Margaret said, still glaring at the twins.

"Oh!" Avarice placed a bony finger on her transparent cheek, "That reminds me, we called you to help us clean out Germany's attic!" "It's really huge and we can't really finish cleaning between the two of us." Aeced continued.

"I'M NOT CLEANING! I SWEAR BY AECED'S PINK SUNGLASSES TO TOP IT OFF!" Margaret yellled, Lukas planted a hand on his face and shook his head, his rabbit ears shaking.

"You swear by my pink glasses? That's new!" Aeced laughed.

"Okay, are we just gonna keep arguing, or are we gonna start cleaning?" Lukas crossed his arms impatiently.

"Okay, fine, fiiiine!" Avarice made  some cleaning equipment appear out of no-where and handed a feather duster to Lukas, "Let's start!"

"Yeah, you too, Margaret. Even if you swore by my glasses you won't." Aeced said, floating off with a vacuum cleaner.

"Who knows what neat things we'll find here!" Avarice said, already beginning to take things out of an old treasure chest.

"How ace, I found an antique dress!" Aeced shouted from the left.

"How GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" Lukas yelled.

"It's not about being gay! It's about being.... FABULOUS!" Aeced did a little dance using the vacuum cleaner as a dance partner.

"Cool, I found some flintlock pistols, I didn't know Germaine liked guns!" Margaret examined the antique gun in awe.

"She's a goddess, of course she's been there, done that." Avarice said, wiping an ornate vase with a washcloth.

"Guys, come over here, look what I found!" Lukas called, motioning the other three to come over to his spot, where he was crouching over a pile of notebooks, they appeared to have been just been left there for a long time, like all the other artifacts in the attic, collecting dust like a greedy tax collector. The notebook covers were a dark shade of red. They were Germaine's journals.

"Do you think we should read them?" Lukas asked, examining one of the notebooks.

"Hey, those aren't ORDINARY journals!" Avarice exclaimed, picking one up.

"Really? What are they then?"

"It's the kind that will directly beam you to the memory written down on it, how ace, lucky Lucky Charms, he found it first!" Aeced said, thumping Lukas in the back, he didn't mind that his hand just passed through Lukas' back.

Lukas flinched when Aeced used the nickname that the twins reserved especially for him, like what they did for anyone they meet.

"Wow! I've only heard of them in books! Now we're looking at them in real life!" Margaret exclaimed in awe.

"Let's read the first one!" Avarice suggested. Lukas pored through the box and looked dissapointed.

"Guys, I only found the third one, is that okay?"

"So what? It's still SOMETHING! Let's beam ourselves in!"

Margaret took the journal from her brother and opened it.
