I have made a vow not to leave dipper alone until we figure this out. It's been a week since dipper got admitted to the hospital. We can't take him home yet. I would have healed him, but Ford said it would cause suspicion. I Visit there with dipper all day every day, and I'm in his dreams at night. He constantly gets headaches. Not surprising since he cracked his head open. I did have to heal that a little, or else he would be in a coma. He bruised his entire back, and cracked some ribs. Doctors say it's because he was in a weird position when he fell. I sigh. Right now, he is reliving the moment he fell. He is right, it was me who made him fall, or at least, the shape shifter pretending to be me. I watch silently. Dipper hits the ground. The "me" turns into someone else. Dipper wakes up, pulling me from my train of thought. I'm ejected onto the floor. He sits up, panicking. The monitor is flashing. I hear footsteps racing down the hall, so I hide. There are voices, and Dipper telling them he's fine. After a few minutes, they leave.
"Coast is clear." I reappear. He smiles. I think I found our shift shaper." I say. He goes wide eyed.
"Who is it?" He asks. I shrug.
"No idea whatsoever kid. I do know that you need to go to sleep though" he puts out his good arm. I walk over and lay with him. I make sure not to hurt him. After a few seconds, my pine tree is asleep, and I enter his dreams once again.
.......................
I leave his mind as he wakes up. Stan, Ford, and Mabel are already there. Today is the day we take Dipper home! I smile. Will walks in. Dipper stretches his not broken arm and leg. A nurse walks in. She starts removing all the tubes and disconnects Dipper from the heart monitor. When it flat lines, I jump, not purposely, but it freaked me out. Dipper laughs.
"Don't worry man, I'm still alive." I feel my face go all red. He laughs. The nurse situates him in a wheelchair. I walk over, and grab a hold of the handles on the back of the chair. We go get him checked out, and then we head home. The whole way, he is smiling. We get home, and have a huge dilemma. How to get him out of the car. I stand there and help him slowly get out. He hire his bad foot, and yelps. I will my eyes.
"Yeesh kid" I snap, and start to levitate. Dipper appears in my lap. Mabel shuts the car door. We all go inside.
"Can I heal him now?" I whine. Dipper laughs.
"Please do. This hurts." I look at Ford. He nods. I wrap my arms around him, and do me thing. I imagine everything healing. He groans.
"Almost done." I mutter in his ear.
"Ow, Ow, Ow, Ow," he whispers. I stop.
"Done." I say.
"It sounds like you just got done cooking something, which is pretty much what I feel like." I hug him tighter.
"I'm sorry." He sighs. He leans into me.
"Its okay." I float us up to his room.
"Now, how do we get these casts off." I say.
