Ends and Beginnings

Ari's P.O.V.

It was Monday, and a week had passed since Jake had texted me. We had decided that we needed to meet in a tension free environment, so any date like places such as cafes and restaurants were off limits. That didn't leave much else, but we were able to decide on the basketball court for a little shooting practice. We'd be getting in a work out, and there would be people all around us.

No matter how laid back this meeting was going to be, I couldn't feel any sort of calm. I was extremely nervous, and had a total internal freak out when ever I thought about it. Of course I concealed all of this from Sienna, as far as she knew, I could care less, and just wanted to get this over with. But, that was far  from the truth. While I was unbelievably happy with her, and with our relationship, I couldn't help but feel anxious to see Jake. Not that I was considering going back to him or anything, but seeing him would definitely be a test of how much I was truly over him, of how much I had moved on. I was pretty confident in my feelings for Sienna, but it's possible to have feelings for two people. That's what I feared.

"So you're going to come rescue me at 6:30, and then we're going to grab dinner right?" I asked as I slipped into my black work out shorts.

It was 5, and I was getting ready to head to the court. I wore a white wife beater, black work out shorts, and black and white nike sneakers. My hair was up in a messy bun, and I was trying to look as laid back as possible. I did not want this to seem date like or tension filled in any way.

"Well, I may be a little late, I kind of made other plans," said Sienna, putting her hair up in a ponytail.

"Other plans?" I asked confused, slinging my duffle bag over my shoulder.

"You know, to watch you suffer," said Sienna with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes, and then turned around, making my way to do the door with out even saying goodbye. Before I could even put my hand on the doorknob, she grabbed my arm, spun me towards her, and placed a soft yet passionate kiss on my lips.

"What was that for?" I asked in a whisper after our lips parted, my eyes still closed.

"Oh, just something to help you endure the torture," she said, and although my eyes were closed, I knew she was smirking.

I wrapped my arms around her neck, bringing our bodies as close as they could to each other. Her arms wrapped around my waist, hugging my tightly to her body.

"I love you," I whispered into her ear.

"I love you more," she whispered back, blowing into my ear.

Ughh, I could stay like this for hours. And while I was tempted to do so, I knew I had to leave.

"Bye," I said, giving her a peck on the lips, and then heading out.

I made it to the fitness center around 5:10, dumped my bag in the locker room, stretched, and then went into the court at 5:15. There weren't a lot of people in there, just a couple of guys playing a 3 on 3 game at one end. Shooting hoops by himself at the other end was Jake.

As I approached he turned around, and my heart couldn't help but race a little faster. He looked exactly the same, except he got a hair cut! His locks were now cut into a faux hawk. Not going to lie, it suited him well. Damn, why did he always have to look so good?

"Hey," I said as calmly as I could.

"Hey," he said intently, looking right into my eyes with his trancing grey ones.

I couldn't help but stare into the storm clouds for a few moments before I said something.

"So you ready to get your ass kicked?" I asked jokingly, deciding I wanted this meeting to be on the light side.
