Luke was flying quickly, tugging on his favorite flower petal shoes. He was going to be on time if an opposing force didn't get to him. He had managed to wake up late and was struggling to get to school on time. The petal closed exactly at eight-thirty and it was so awkward getting in to the classroom after when one-fourth of the room opened up.

He had stayed up later than normal watching an old rerun of Keeping Up With The Flutters and ended up binge watching a whole season and now he was truly regretting it. His hair and clothes were truly a mess and he knew that he'd look awful at school that day.

The blonde slowly started slowing down, noticing that he was getting closer and closer to the school building. It was made up of one giant sunflower and Luke loved it. Yellow was his favorite color and at school he was surrounded by it. Just a few wing flaps and he'd be there.

Luke continued on his trek and he was about ten feet away. So close. He was so close. He continued flapping his wings as quickly as he could. He normally went slower than most fairies, cursed by being born with one tinier wing than the other. It made it a bit difficult to fly at times but Luke wouldn't let it slow him down.

The blonde must've not been paying attention because soon he ran into something and him and the object were falling two feet onto the floor. Luke fell onto the ground in a heap of wings, legs, and fairy.

Luke groaned as he felt all the wind be knocked out of his body. The grass was long and tall around him as he laid on the floor. He felt the other fairy shift and soon he was completely on the floor against his will. Half of his body was no longer laying on some fairyelse.

"Thanks flutterbrain, we're going to be late now," the voice said and Luke internally cursed. Of all the people he had to run into, it had to be his biggest enemy.

Fairies were naturally loving creatures and Luke liked to believe that he was one as well, but Michael Clifford was different. Michael Clifford made the blonde want to rip every hair out of the smug fairy's head and to rip every organ out as well.

"It was your fault! You ran into me!" Luke exclaimed, picking himself up and dusting off some of the dirt that now stained his favorite yellow outfit.

"It is not! You weren't watching where you were going! I hate you Luke," Michael grumbled. He pushed the blonde over and took off flying.

"I hope you run into some thornbeasts!" Luke yelled after the taller, meaner fairy.

Luke watched as the blue-haired fairy flew away and tried to hold back some tears. What did he do to deserve this? He just wanted to get to school on time and now he was stuck in dirt and wouldn't be able to fly up to get to class.

The problem with his small wing was that he could only get himself to fly off of surfaces that were already elevated and how was he going to fly if he was stuck in the ground? It just wasn't fair. He was either going to have to wait for someone to notice that he was gone and go find him or to start climbing the closest flower stem. Luke knew that his best friend, Ashton, would notice immediately but he couldn't look for him while being in class.

The blonde little fairy sighed and made his way to the nearest flower stem that he could see. He had to walk quite awhile until he found one and started his decent up, the small thorns on the side helping his footing.

Luke let his mind wander as he climbed up the obvious rose and on how he hadn't found his soulmate yet. Almost everyone in their class had except a select few. Most tried as soon as they could to find theirs but Luke was fine with waiting. He was young and wasn't in a rush. He just needed to get out of school before he would search.

It was maybe an hour later when Luke finally got onto the leaf of the rose and could finally take off flying. He weighed his options of going into school late or just going back home. He could easily crawl back into his bed and cuddle into his pillows. There was the other half of the Flutters season that he could finish and the more the blonde thought about it, the more appealing it sounded.

Luke went with the second option and soon he was cuddled in his bed, slowly falling asleep to the sound of Khrysanthemum Flutter yelling at her sister Klover Flutter. Khrysanthemum was mad because Klover's soulmate had been a boy that she had already dated and it left Luke with dreams of who his soulmate would be and what they would be like.
