You came home from the war
Your heart was all torn
Your body was confused
And your conflict was scorned
After so many days
Dressed up like a man
You just couldn't say
Why you felt such demand
To stay that way
You knew you'd changed
And yesterday
They found you hanged
From the cherry blossom tree
Out in the yard
With society
Yanking the rope hard
They choked you to death
With the stigma regarding
The direction you went
And ended up discarding
Your body and story
In an ditch by the lake
They stripped you of your glory
With their cruel mistakes
But you were a hero
From beginning to end
When your life was at zero
You just needed a friend
