Chapter Twelve: Blake

I don't remember much. All I remember was being at the mall and seeing Lily kissing some guy. I looked around. Am I at the hospital? I thought. I noticed I had a breathing tube and was sore in every place I could possible be sore in. I looked down at my hand. Someone was holding it. I Looked over and saw Lily holding my hand. 

"Wha-, what happened?" I managed to sputter before she reached and wiped the hair from my face. 

"It doesn't matter now. All that matters is you focus all your energy on getting better." She looed at me for a while. Her eyes were red and puffy. She had been crying. 

"Hey,"

"What sweetie?"

"Why were you kissing that guy at the mall? Was it something I did?"

"Oh no." She sat there and told all about how Halle wanted to go out with Trent and Joe was coming along and he just kissed her and she tried to get away but he was strong. I believe her. I mean, I'm pretty sure she didn't tell Joe that she loved him. Heh heh heh. I looked at her closely.

"How long have we been here?"

"Well, I've been here since the ambulance ride. That was three days ago." 

"You haven't been home once? Go home. I'll be fine. Just tell my mom I want to see her."

"Are you sure? Cause I can stay longer if I need to."

"Babe, go on home." That was the first time I called her babe. Man. I pulled her close to me and kissed her and she walked out of my room. I just lay there and thought about all that had happened. Not too long after Lily left, my  mom walked in and sat down where Lily was sitting, She had been crying too.

"Oh, Blake. I'm so glad you're alright." She said grabbing my hand and squeezing it. 

"I'm pretty glad too." I said trying to be funny.

"Lily told me what happened. You need to watch where you're going. I can't imagine, what would happen if, well, if you didn't make it."

"Mom, I did make it. That's what matters."  She looked at me with a smile on her face. I know I had said the right thing. She kiss my forehead then said she was going to get me somefood if I could have some. I just lay there for awhile thinking about Lily. I love her so much.
