After last week when Blake had his head in his bag I had made every excuse I could think of to keep from going back over there. I don't know if I made him nervous or what but his whole head was in that bag. I've got to stop thinking about this. It’s not that important. So a guy had his head in the bag. Maybe he had something he didn't want me to see or something.

I don't know. Anyway, I stand in front of my closet thinking about what I want to wear tonight. We're going out to eat with someone. My mom won't tell me who, but I get to go out instead of try and swallow mom's cooking. I grabbed the dress and cardigan I wore on the first day of school. I hadn't pulled it out since then. I switched my shorts and t-shirt for the dress and cardigan. I dug out my white, slightly high, heels. I love these heels; they just hurt my feet so badly. I rarely ever dig them up.

I walked over to my full length mirror on my bedroom door. I think I look cute with my hair all curled, my heels on, and my make up looking fantastic. I love this! Everything is actually cooperating with me. I went over to my desk and grabbed my over-the-shoulder bag I had gotten a couple of days ago. It's light brown and zips. It also has a long strap. I love it so much. I slipped my phone, wallet, and compact in my bag and pulled it over my head.

"Mom!" I screamed as I left my room and closed the door. "When are we leaving?"

"When I'm ready!" She hollered from her room. Dad came out with a "don't rush her, she'll get mad" expression on his face. Mom was always the one we were waiting on. I went down the stairs and sat on the couch with Charity.

“Hey. I like that dress. Why don't you ever wear it?" Charity said to me with a confused look on her face.

"I did wear it.. Once." I replied. "Why don't you ever wear that dress?" I motioned towards the purple, semi-short, one strapped dress she was wearing.

"It's far too nice to wear to school, so I wear on special occasions." I just rolled my eyes and sat there in silence until mom came down the stairs.

"Come on girls! Don't want to be late!" She yelled as she walked out the door. Dad came down the stairs shortly after.

"Come on girls! That's the fourth dress! I don't want to wait for another!" He said. We knew and jumped up. We all got to the car just as mom was complaining she thought it was too cold for her strapless, semi-short dress. Dad said she looked fabulous and he'd give her his jacket if she got too cold. Good move dad. We hopped in knowing we didn't have too much time to get there.

The drive there was pretty quiet, but once we got out of the car, mom started complaining and dad was taking off his jacket. Charity and I walked up the restaurant. I hate when we have to wait on them. It took them like five minutes to walk up to us.

"Come on girls. Let's go get a table." Mom said with a smile. We all followed her in. The host was extremely cute. I usually try not to do stuff like that, but he was attractive. I winked at him as he pulled out my chair when he got us our table. He smiled and pulled out his little pad.

"What can I get you guys to drink?" We all went around saying what we wanted. Mom and dad got wine, and Charity and I got water. I wonder who we\'re eating with. I thought to myself. Mom was making conversation with the people next to us when someone walked up to the table. I didn't bother to look over. I was too interested in staring at the cute waiter. I noticed mom had turned her attention to them. I decided it was time to look up and see who it was.

"Oh, Blake, I didn't know we were going to eat with you and your mom." I said with surprise. He looked over at me like he was analyzing everything I said,

"That makes two of us." He said turning his attention to the waiter. Man, why am I so interested in him? I have no clue. I turned to my mom.

"Mom? Why didn't you tell me we were eating with the Matthews'? Totally not cool." I said, giving her that look that teens give their parents.

"Look honey, I was afraid if you knew who we were going with, you'd say you're not going." she had a sympathetic look on her face when she said it. I hated that.

Wait, why did Blake not know our families were eating together? Was this my parents, no, my mom's doing? I couldn't take it. I looked over at my mom.

"Excuse me. I have to use the ladies room." I said with a smile and kind of to the whole table. They all smiled and my dad said don't be too long. I don't think I'll be too long. I again winked at the waiter and for some reason I secretly hoped that Blake saw it and got jealous. What is wrong with me tonight? I took my time getting to the bathroom. I walked in front of the huge mirror. I just stared.

"Why did I even come in here?" I said audibly to myself. I think one of the ladies in the stall thought I was talking to her because she hollered back, "I don't know. Do you have to pee?" Oh goodness. I just walked out. As I walked back to the table I kept my eye on the bathroom. Who was that? I thought to myself. Just then I bumped into the extremely attractive waiter.

"Oh! I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention!" I was freaking out. I stopped for a second to see he was laughing at me. "What?" I said exasperated.

"You don't have to pummel me with your apology." He said still laughing.

"Well, excuse me for being polite." I said. I was kind of mad at him and I think he noticed.

"Oh, well, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you." He said with an "aren't I hot?" expression.

“Well, I guess I can forgive you."

"Well thank you. I just have one question."

"What would that be?"

"Do you have a number?"

"Yea. I do. Are you asking for it, or are you just trying to make sure I'm not a social dweeb?"

"Ha ha. No, I was wondering if I could call you sometime. If that's okay with you." He's asking me for my number! What do I do? What do I do!

"I guess it wouldn't cause too much harm. Can I see your pad?" He handed it to me with a smile. I wrote down my cell phone number. No way was I giving him my home phone. What if Charity answered? I handed him his pad.

"Thank you. Oh and I didn't hear your name."

"That's because I didn't say it. It's Lily Miller." I walked off as quickly as I could. Did that just happen? Did I just flirt with that waiter? I didn't even get his name, yet he has my number! As I approached the table I noticed that he was closing in. I sat down just before he asked us if we were ready to order. We all went around and told him. When he was done and about to leave, he looked at me and winked. That's supposed to be mine!

Once everyone had eaten and Blake and I shared a few weird conversations, we had a check. We were up and ready to leave when Blake walked up to me.

"Hey" He said.

"Shouldn't we be saying goodbye instead?" I said with a slight laugh.

"Ha ha. Yeah I guess, but I just wanted to give you this." He shoved a piece of paper at me then went to catch up with his mother. I slipped the piece of paper in my bag. I don't want Charity to see me open it. We paid and left without another sign of that waiter. Oh well.
