A place in my heart...
Where you used to be,
Is now dead.
The wounds that you gave,
Ripped it apart,
Leaving it scarred.
I had loved you once,
With the deepest of emotions,
Now I just have regrets.
Enough... Said the heart,
Unbearable pain tortured my being,
It was time to let you go.
Letting go was hard,
The pain you put me through was harder,
I had to move on.
I woke from this dream sleep,
With a loud thud of falling apart,
My world was not the same anymore.
Loving you was an experience,
A bitter one, but useful...
It turned me into a wiser one at least.
The turmoil of overcoming,
The struggle of forgetting,
Taught me not to trust blindly again.
