Karlie's pov:

Suddenly, two more shadows appear and that's when I feel Taylor's hand clasp around my arm once again. Loud growls are heard and even whimpers. That's when I realize it's my wolves.

"I can't believe you thought this was mud!" Taylor complains as she grips her shirt while we make our way back to my cabin. Bear and Shadow follow behind us not banged up all that bad

I laugh "I was scared I couldn't think straight!" I defend

She shakes her head "I just hope I don't puke again" she shivers

"Don't worry you can shower when we get home" I state trying to calm her thoughts

"Ok" she glances behind us "Your dogs really do come in handy. How did they even know we were in trouble?" She asks and turns her attention towards me

"Well considering I yelled 'bear' I'm guessing Bear heard it and thought I was calling for him" I shrug

"Oh ya"

Nothing is heard the rest of the way except the crackling of leaves and sticks beneath our feet.

"Wake up angel" I shake her sleeping body that consumes my bed

"Hm what?" She turns on her back and slowly sits up, rubbing her eyes adorably

I smile "I'm going hunting and you're coming with me" I state as I hold my bow and arrow steady as it lays over my shoulder

"No, I am not" she shakes her head "we got chased by a bear yesterday" she lays her head and body back down

I roll my eyes "Fine but you're not going to stay here alone" I say. The Nakoons kidnapping Taylor flashes through my mind.

"I'm not. Shadow can stay" she speaks with her eyes closed

"No, he's coming with me because he's still in hunting training" I reason

She sighs

I think for a second and then an idea sparks into my head "Actually. I know someone who you can stay with" I smile

She looks to me with curious eyes

Taylor's pov:

We've been walking I'm sure for an hour or longer and my feet are beginning to hurt. Also, Karlie hasn't given me much information on who this someone is that I'm going to stay with. She also won't tell me why she won't let me stay alone. But I only guess it's because she's afraid the Nakoons may find me or something considering they are still looking for me. They aren't ones to give up.

"We're here. Now don't walk too fast or stay low, or else we'll appear to be invaders" she instructs

I nod as I examine the tall, pointed, wooden structures that form a barrier. There's a huge gate that seems to be guarded by three men that hold weapons. I swallow in anxiety and fear

We approach the men and I can't help but grab Karlie's arm as one of them examine me up and down

"I'm here to see Cara, I'm Karlie"

"Karlie!" A girl as tall as me, but younger, appears from behind one of the muscular men and I'm left in surprise

"Zendaya!" Karlie says happily after a slight hesitation and leaves my grip to hug the girl
