The problem with Alpha Ian

I on the other hand, did everything in my power to keep my gaze as far away from him as possible.

"Will that be all?" I ask a group of guys while I cleared their table.

They all nod and the one on the far left smirks "Why don't you take your break and come with me to the back"

I roll my eyes, already used to this. "I'll bring the check"

"Come on baby, If you are good I'll give you a good tip"

I hear glass slam against the floor and My eyes snap to it only to see a very pissed off Ian his eyes darkening. Jayda was freaking out quickly mumbling what I am guessing are calming words while Maddox, her mate just stared at the whole scene with mild interest.

I could hear low growls come in his direction, whatever Blondie was doing, just wasn't working.

Ian was almost shaking at this point.

And that's when I decided to intervene, I have been working here for 5 years and I have NEVER shifted and Ian's been here for less than 20 minutes and he's already losing his shit.

So I quickly walk to his table and grab his wrist, dragging him to the parking lot.

As soon as I get to my desired spot next to my car, I let go of him. Ignoring the pleasant feeling that had ignited in my chest while I touched him.

"You've got to be kidding me" I start as he stares at me with completely black eyes.

"Did you hear what he said? I should go back there and--" Ian growls get louder, his wolf wanted to take control.

I step forward and glare at him "You should do nothing you know why? Because what he says to me is my problem and my problem only" I pole his chest angrily "You have no right to come to my work and make a scene, I haven't seen you in 7 years. Hell I don't even know you because that one time I did see you we didn't talk for longer than 2 minutes. You know who's fault is that" I take a deep breath.

"Point is, that the fact that you just happen to run into me while playing third wheel with your friends doesn't give you any right to act like a caveman. It wasn't fate or anything So don't think for a second that it was"

After my very long rant, I return my gaze to Ian's who looks more calm now. "I know it wasn't fate, I came because I knew you would be here"

I take a confused step back "What?"

"I wanted to see you" he smiles.

I shake my head "No, Ian. I rejected you. Do you know what that means? I don't want to be with you. I am over you."

He sucks in a breath as if I'd physically hurt him.

What the hell was he expecting for me to run back into his arms?

Puh-lease.

His eyes are pensive for a moment until his face lights up. "I just want to be friends, nothing more"

"I know I don't know you well but I didn't think you'd be that stupid. Really Ian? The 'I just want to be friends but I will try to make you fall for me plan' really?" I roll my eyes.

He just grins.

"Sure, whatever just leave me alone and go back to your friends" I mumble and start walk back inside when his voice stops me.

"You are my friend"

I shake my head "Nope, more like an acquaintance who really dislikes you and only said yes because of pity"

"I'll take what I can get"

I turn around suddenly very angry "This stupid plan of yours probably would have worked a couple years ago but not anymore, not now. I have changed so much since that stupid 16 year old who was angry but all she really wanted was for you to come back and apologize. Thank the lord that you didn't because I probably would have made the biggest mistake of my life. End of story is, I don't want your love. I don't want anyone's love I just want to keep living my life like I am now"
