He rolls his eyes. Ian is still looking at me as if he can't believe I am right in front of him.

I nod slowly "I'll go get Betsy"

"No!" Ian yells then stops clears his throat awkwardly and repeats in a much quieter tone. "No, we want you to take our order"

"Okay well tell me what you want"

After they all recite their orders to me I walk into the kitchen, snatching the paper from my notepad I hang it on the order holder.

"What are you doing? You're supposed to be making rounds" Connor says and I roll my eyes. I hated him when he was at work. Just like when he was in college. Everything had to be perfect.

And yet, everytime I got in trouble with Reed his perfectness went out the window and he got me out.

"I know but I just want to hang out with my favorite chef" I say giving him my most charming smile.

He smiles a little "You can hang out with me when we get home"

Home. Connor and I had been living together for 5 years. We started in a really small studio apartment sharing one sofa bed but thankfully we moved when we got enough money and now we live in a pretty comfy on story house.

We each had our own rooms and mostly kept out of each other's beds. When we didn't it was just because we had an itch that needed scratching.

If you know what I mean.

And tonight even if there's no itch, Connor is going to scratch it.

I shake my head "I wanna hang out now, how's your day?"

Connor lowers the heat on the stove and turns to me, crossing his arms over his chest. "What is it? Is Gabriella there again?"

I shake my head no, Gabriella and I had gotten better over the years but being with her was exhausting. She felt so guilty about what happened years ago that she was overcompensating. Everything I said she agreed with. And let's not get started on her apologizing every time she sees me. So most of the times I just avoided her.

"Nope, my mate is here" I say and his whole body turns rigid.

"Want me to do something about it?"

Connor had gotten considerably stronger in the past few years, he learned a few witchcraft things as well that really scared the crap out of me. his ability with fire had also improved.

I had tried to keep him away from witchcraft because it's creepy as hell but it was like keeping Dean Winchester away from his daddy issues or keeping season 4 Sam Winchester away from Demon blood.

Impossible.

I shake my head "No, there's really no reason to. Everything is in the past"

Connor puts his hands on my shoulders and looks at me straight in the eye "Is there any chance you would be with him?"

Even though my heart flutters at the thought I shake my head. "No, never"

Connor's face brightens "Good"

I nod "So, can you make this and I'll wait with you here"

He shakes his head "Sorry Bella but no, I make this and you go check on your other tables. Come back after your done with your round"

I scowl and he kisses my forehead "Go on kiddo"

Flipping him off, I stomp my way out of the kitchen.

I decide to listen to him and do my rounds. Refilling people's drinks and clearing up some tables all the while I could feel Ian's eyes following me everywhere.
