Through the Dark

So sorry this is late! But I hope you enjoy!
Natalia's POV
I'm so happy today is the day I get discharged from the hospital!
I still have to be really careful though and always have someone with me.
I wonder how the bathroom situation is gonna work...
"Hi love." Niall said, coming in the room with a bouquet of lily's, my favorite flower.
I took the flowers and kissed him.
"Well someone's happy." He laughed, sitting down on the bed.
I sat down next to him and replied,
"Well of course I am! I get to go home!"
"Natalia, come on down to the lab, we just need to do one more test to make sure that you can go home okay?" The doctor said, popping his head into the room.
"Okay!" I got up and headed over.
Niall following.
"Alright, this is gonna hurt but we have to run one more blood test okay? And then we have to do a quick brain scan but that only takes about five minutes. Okay?" A nurse told me.
I nodded, "sure, let's do this!"
I grimaced with the pain from the needle and I squeezed Niall's hand.
He kissed it softly.
I smiled and the nurse put a band aid on.
Then she had me lay down and this huge machine went over my head.
I couldn't see Niall but I knew he was looking at me.
I smiled at the thought, I'm so lucky to have someone like him.
The machine began beeping loudly and they took it off.
"Is that supposed to happen?" Niall asked the nurse.
"Um no, unless there's a problem." She replied, looking at the screen.
He nodded and looked at me.
"I'm not going home today am I." I mumbledz.
He rubbed my hand and kissed it again.
"I'm sorry love, but we'll get through it together okay?" He replied.
I nodded.
We waited a few minutes for the doctor in silence.
It wasn't an awkward silence, it was a nice silence. The kind that lovers do because they don't even need to speak to communicate with each other.
"Alright, miss Natalia Payne, I'm very sorry, but you won't be able to go home today. Now, you will be able to in the next week hopefully, but we will have to send a nurse to be there at all times with you."
"What why?" I asked.
I'm perfectly fine!
Aren't I?
"Well, miss Payne, you have a very severe brain injury from the accident that we didn't see before. Do you mind if I ask you some questions before confirming my diagnosis?" The doctor asked.
Wait brain damage? But I can walk and talk and I know who everybody is!
"Um yeah sure." I replied.
"When is your birthday?"
"July 12th."
"What is your middle name?"
"Taylor."
"What's your fathers name?"
"Um, wait. I-I don't know."
"Do you remember your dad? Mom?"
"Um no, I, I don't." Oh my god, I don't even remember my own parents!
"What grade are you in?"
"Um I just finished school right?"
Niall nodded.
Okay, I got this.
Breathe.
"Where are you, as in state and city."
"Uh,..."
"Alright, I've got all the information I need, miss Payne, you have memory loss, but only of things prior to the accident. You will remember everything after but you won't remember anything that had happened a week before you got hit." He explained, leaving the room.
I groaned and flopped down on the bed.
"I know love, I'm sorry." Was all Niall said.
"I just- I just wish I could be out of here and be with everybody the normal way again."
"I know. And you will be able to."
"Someday."
He didn't reply he only kissed my hand again.
He left the room but only for a few seconds and came back with the rest of the boys.
"We're not as good with words, so we're gonna sing." Lou told me.
Niall strummed his guitar.
"I'm really sorry that this happened to you love, but we will get through it together okay?" Louis said, before they launched into the song.
I nodded.

I clapped, tearing up a bit.
All the boys kissed me on the cheek before leaving, because they had a big concert tonight.
"I know I have to leave, but I want you to know that we have you in good hands. Remember Calum, Ashton, Luke, and Michael?"
I shook my head no.
"Oh, right. Well, they're here because their tour just ended. And since we've been buds with them for a while now, I figured, who better to stay with you than those insane boys?" Niall laughed.
I laughed as well," I'm sure they say the exact same thing about one direction."
"Tru dat." Niall confirmed.
"GUESS WHOS BACK!" I heard a voice yell.
"Mikey shutup man! We're in a hospital!" Someone scolded him.
I laughed and they entered the room.
"And that's my cue to leave." Niall stated, kissing me for about 10 seconds. But I mean who's weird enough to count how long they kiss for? Ha. Ha. Me.
Before Niall left, he introduced me to all of them again.
Then Luke began being a big tease.
"Ooooh when did this happen?"
"I sense drama!" Mikey shouted again.
Ash jabbed him in the side with his elbow to get him to stop shouting.
"OW! I mean ow, dang it Ash!" He said, running his side.
I laughed.
"Like a week before the accident." I replied.
"Ooooh so you dumped Harry hard?" Luke asked.
"Well, let's just say he's the reason I'm here."
They all got quiet.
"No no no no no guys no! He didn't run me over! He just was yelling at Niall and I when he found out I was cheating on him, so I ran out and this girl who was obsessed with Niall ran me over!" I quickly corrected.
"Oh okay, I was getting ready to go after that a-hole." Mikey stated.
"Haha thanks, but we've got it covered." I replied.
He nodded and sat down.
"So how are you?" Calum asked me.
"I'm okay. I would've been a lot better though if I could've just left today. But I can't because I don't remember anything a week before the accident. Which is why I didn't remember you guys."
He nodded, " I can tell that that's tough, but those boys of yours are definitely going to fight for you, no matter what."
"And we will too. Even though you don't remember us, we were there when that idiot Bieber tried to seduce you." Ash told me.
Wait what!?
"Yeah we totally beat him up." Mikey smiled.
"Wow, thanks guys." I praised.
"No prob lolly pop." Luke nicknamed me.
That sounded like I knew that name though but I couldn't track it down.
But I just left the memory alone and continued to talk and laugh with the crazy boys that are 5 seconds of summer.
I have to say, I like my crazy insane boys better.
One direction will forever have my heart.

So sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I just got the worst head cold ever and I have a book report due and all this stuff. Anyways I hope you liked! Please comment and vote if you did!
