Last chapter... let's do this.

As the girl sat down in her worn leather office chair, quill pen poised above parchment, she sighed. Last chapter, last chance for a happy ending. That's what her fans wanted.

She pushed her tangled hair out of her face and stared down at the paper once more.

The pen was tightly grasped in her hand. She felt a sudden, electrifying burst of inspiration, like a spark, that took over her mind. Her eyes widened, and she placed the nub of the pen down on the yellowing parchment.

Must... kill... Teresa.

After the flood of emotions cause by Teresa's actions in The Scorch Trials, the girl felt an overwhelming desire to rid the Earth of the horrible soul that was Teresa Agnes. It was finally time for her to pay the price. Even if it was just a fanfiction.

But as her vision cleared, the young author put her pen down. Teresa was important to her plot line, even if the character was a snobby little jerk. The girl, however much she wanted to kill Teresa, let the thought fade from her mind.

Leaving her with a blank slate once more.

How was she going to end The Alternatives?

She slumped in her chair and rolled her eyes.
