Telekinetic 「On Hold」

Prologue

September 16th 2012

I read the morning newspaper. My mother was making breakfast for me and my dad, it was a happy life. I was supposed to be at school, going to be in third grade.

"Hey mom, how do I look?" I asked as I looked at myself in the mirror. "You look stunning April," my mother replied with a smile on her face. I looked at my black hair and sighed. I played with a fork and pretended it was a creature and I was imagining I was the monster and tearing the city up.

My father was very loving he would pick me up and give me piggyback rides and I was his princess. I was pretty much spoiled with the newest dolls and clothes from my parents.

As I looked out through the window I saw strange men approaching the house. "Mom, who are those people?" I asked, confused by the sudden rush of visitors. "April, go hide in your room now," my mother said with a serious look in her eyes. Something was wrong.

So I obeyed her command and hid in my room. I placed my self in the closet, I found the latch and opened it and crawled inside. My heart was beating, why did mom tell me to hide? Were these men dangerous? I heard the door open and my mother told them that I wasn't here,"Where is she?"

I heard one man demand. "I don't know, she's at school right now, please," my mother pleaded. "Hey, if you don't back off I'll call the cops on you, leave us and my daughter alone," my father said angrily. Why did those men want me? I began to fear what was going to happen.

"I know she's here, do not play dumb with me!" The man screamed, "Now tell me, or else I will kill you and find her myself. Do I make myself clear?" The man demanded. "No, I won't let you touch her," my father said as I heard him walk towards them.

"Bad move, my dear friend," the man says, and shouts,"Search every single fucking inch of this house and do not miss a spot you hear me?" I heard footsteps coming towards my room. I was so scared. I began to cry, worried that something bad might happen.

And then I grew quiet. My crying would only bring them to me so I stopped my crying and sat there hoping that they wouldn't find me. "Find her, we cannot afford to lose her again do you hear me?" The man screamed.

I heard violent crashes and my mother screamed, with one last effort my father yelled,"April, whatever you do, do not let them get you!" And then gunshots fire in the house. I froze, everything fell silent. I heard them enter my room, they were coming closer. I couldn't run, where would I go?

I waited as they opened the closet. I saw lights streaming from the latch. "There, she's under her get her!" The men ripped the door open exposing me and then they grabbed me.

I screamed and tried to escape the men but they had a strong grip on me. The man in black said, "You're not going anywhere." As he laughed and turned my face towards him. "Ahh, aren't you the perfect one for our little experiment? Long dark hair and those bright purple eyes of yours? You're definitely the one."

He turned to his men and said,"Sedate her, we can't afford to have her scream any longer," he paused and then he said,"Why yes, she needs to look at what her parents have become." They brought me over to mom and dad, I stared in shock.

Mom and dad were dead. I stayed silent because I could not face the fact that I had not kept my father's dying words. I began to cry and then I saw them grab something.

A needle.

I jerked away, I tried to get out of their grasp. But I was proven too weak. I watched as they enter the needle into my neck, my last sight before I blacked out was the man in black staring at me.
