Love is really complicated. You can't just give it and take it. It's a really big and scary roller coaster, as if life isn't worse enough already. To love, you need to sacrifice. You have to give everything you have and are. You can't just decide you love a person and get into a relationship immediately, you have to work hard for it. You need to earn that person's trust. You need to find time for her.

To love... It isn't easy. I know, I know. I know just a little about loving someone, since I'm still young and stuff. But from my experience, it's too painful to be said in words. It's like letting a person aim an arrow to your heart, trusting her not to fire....

But she fired.

That's the most important thing in relationships.

Trust.

And once you lose hers, you're never earning it back.

My name is Percy Jackson. I'm seventeen and study at Goode High School.

Everything started in English class one Monday morning.

"Last Friday's quiz was extremely easy! I couldn't believe just 3/4 of you passed!" Ms. Carter sighed, roaming around the classroom, distributing the result of last week's test.

Ms. Carter is our English teacher. She's a really nice teacher. You know the rare type of teachers that actually care about you? Yup, she falls in that category. Though sometimes she could be a bit snappy, she's better than most teachers. She's small. She's thin and short but we respect her more than the scary buffy teachers.

She's one of the few teachers I'm thankful for.

"As always, Ms. Chase gets the highest rating, not less than three mistakes." Ms. Carter said as she gave the result to Annabeth Chase, who sat in the second row near the middle.

As Ms. Carter saw the next sheet she was about to give back, she released a big sigh. "And as always, Mr. Jackson gets the lowest." She said on her way to my desk, which was in far back corner.

When she did reach me, she started whispering. "Are you sure you don't need a tutor?"

"No miss. I uhh..." I couldn't say it.

"Can't afford? Ms. Chase looks like she could teach good. You don't need to pay; I'll just give her extra credit."

I thought for a while. "Sure... I could use a tutor. Thanks, miss. I really appreciate it."

She smiled in return and continued handing out the results.

I met Jason outside the classroom.

Jason Grace is six footer, but I'm following closely behind. Jason has blond hair and blue eyes. He has a girlfriend named Piper Mclean, one of the most beautiful (and hottest) girls in our school.

I put my hands inside the pockets of my jacket as I waited for him. It wasn't long til he saw me and rushed to me. He had one arm around Piper's waist.

"Hey." I greeted, nodding to both him and Piper.

They both smiled in return.

Amazingly, Piper's, Jason's, and my locker was beside each other (*cough* Jason's dad is our Principal *cough*). So we all went in the same direction to our lockers.

As always, a path cleared for us as we walked down the packed corridor.

"Man, you must've been humiliated when Ms. Carter roasted you. Oh, and she was telling you something." Jason casually said, completely ignoring the fact that there was a clear path right in front of us like when Moses made a path through the sea.

I tried to show how thankful I was for the clear path they made for us. "I wasn't exactly roasted, I mean, it wasn't really an 'In-Your-Face' scene. Also, she got me a tutor."

I don't know why, but Jason and Piper seemed enlightened by what I said.

"Really? Who'd she get?" Piper exclaimed.

I sighed. "Of course, the Hot Chick with three mistakes. Annabeth Chase... Yeah, that girl."

"You gonna hit on her?" Jason asked. Piper slapped him playfully on the shoulder.

I let out a short laugh.

We reached our lockers and we all got our things for the next period.

"Jason, your next?" I asked.

"I got... Biology." He said from deep inside the locker.

"Cool. Piper?"

"I got maths."

We finished getting our stuff and slammed our lockers shut.

"So... I have to go. Math's really far. See you guys here?"

"Yeah sure." I replied.

As I turned, I saw Annabeth next to me.

Annabeth was only a few inches smaller than me. She had long blonde hair and amazing grey eyes that gave me chills. She was tan, a beautiful color actually. With that beauty, I don't know why she isn't one of the popular girls.

"Woah! Hey there." I managed

"You guys got Biology, too, right? Mind if I walk with you there?"

"No. Not at all." Jason answered.

"So..." I started, a clear path forming once again. "Did Miss tell you?"

"Yeah, she did. You have a free schedule?"

"Um... Not really but I guess i could squish you in." I smiled at her.

"You just wanna do english? Wanna do other subjects?"

"Can I do you?" I said surprisingly.

"Man, that was smooth." Jason complimented.

"You do not want to mess with me." Her face got red. And honestly I didn't know if she's blushing or if she's angry.

"Sorry," I muttered. "Got a little carried away."

She stayed silent the rest of the way.

Biology went by fast.

As the bell rang, all students got up and rushed outside the door without the professor's consent. I did, too. I was about to go out the room until I hears Annabeth's voice.

"Jackson!"

I turned around and saw Annabeth among the crowd. I waited for her then continued walking.

"You free on Saturday? We could meet up anytime you want, actually." Annabeth said.

I thought for a bit. "Yeah, I think so. My dorm at four pm? I have lunch with the gang but after that I've got nothing."

She smiled. "Sounds Great! Don't forget, okay." and with that, she left.
