The helicopter landed on the docks, but I already jumped out before it touched the ground. I then ran towards the car that was parked and waiting for me. Before getting in, I looked up to the sky to where the alien ship was striking the middle of Metropolis with a blue beam.

I sped off, my mind on one thing and one thing only, getting to my daughter. I pulled out my phone and called her.

"Dad?!" She answered.

"Emma! Where are you!"

"I'm still in the building. Daddy..." I heard of sniff. "I'm scared."

It broke my heart to hear my little girl cry. "Emma, I promise you, everything will be alright. Listen to me, I need you to tell everyone to get out of the building, okay? Get out of the building. I'll be there to come and get you."

"Okay. Okay. I'll get everyone out safely."

"That's my girl. Now, I- SHIT!!" I swerved the car to narrowly miss falling debris. Above me, a second alien ship was flying through the buildings.

I turned down a few streets, then stopped the car. People were looking up at the ship that stopped emanating that blue beam. I then saw what looked to be a C-17 fly into it. The giant ship then started to be sucked into some kind of wormhole.

I held my phone uo to my ear again. "Emma?"

"Dad? Are you okay?"

I sighed in relief when she answered. "I'm fine sweetie. What about you? Are you out of the building?"

"Almost. It's taking me some time cause I was on the eighteenth floor."

I got back into the car and started to drive to my building again. "Baby, you need to move."

I turned down the street where my building was on, but some firetrucks were in my way so I had to get out. But just when I did, I saw something, or someone, fly into my building. I heard Emma scream through the phone and started to panic.

"Emma?!"

She didn't answer. Only screamed again. I saw what looked like lasers slicing through the building. It was causing the building to tip and crash down. I saw whoever crashed into the building fly out as the building crumbled to the ground. My heart stopped.

"EMMA!!!"

While everyone else was running away from the dust cloud, I ran straight into it.

I walked through the dust, shock and fear filling me. "Emma!" I called out for my daughter, but I didn't get an answer. "Emma!"

"Help!" I turned to the voice. I knew it wasn't Emma since it was a man's vooce, but I couldn't just walked away from someone in need.

I jogged towards a man who was laying on the ground. A giant metal beam was crushing his knees.

"Please help." He cried.

I kneeled next to him. "Hey. It's going to be okay, alright..." I looked at the tag on his shirt. "Wallis. What do they call you? Wally? Yeah?"

Wally looked up at me. "Your the boss, boss."

"I need some help over here!" I called out to some guys. They both came and took hold of Willy's arms as I lifted the beam.

"I can't- I can't feel them! I can't feel my legs!"

I looked down as Wally cried. His knees were crushed. I knew that he wouldn't be able to walk again. I looked up to see a little girl. She was standing under some debris that was about to fall and crush her. I sprinted over and picked her up, just before the concrete smashed her.

"Okay. Your okay." I said to the crying little girl. "Listen we're going to find your mommy and everything's going to be alright. Where's your mommy?"

The girl pointed up. I followed her gaze to where the building was sliced and sighed. I knew and the little girl knew. Mommy wasn't coming back.

I hugged the little girl before leading her to a group of people. I then went back to searching for my daughter. I wasn't going to give up hope. She's still alive. I know it.

"Emma! Emma! Baby answer me!"

"Dad?!" I turned to my left to see an arm sticking out from some debris. "Dad! Over here!"

"Emma! I'm coming!" I ran over and clamped my hands around her shaking one. I gazed into her beautiful ocean blue eyes through the hole where she was reaching her hand out. "I'm here, Emma. I'm here."

"Daddy." Tears flowed from her eyes.

"I'm going to get you out of here. Just hang on."

I looked around for something to create leverage and found a pole. I grabbed it and jammed it into a crack.

"Stand back baby."

When Emma was at a safe enough distance, I started to pushed the pole. The crack became bigger, and soon, a block of cement broke off. I threw the pole down and reached in, picked up my daughter, and carried her out to safety.

She sobbed into me and squeezed tight. "Da-ddy."

"It's okay. It's okay. You're safe now." I whispered to her as I squeezed back. "I promise."

She kept sobbing and I just held her. I heard a boom and looked up to the sky. Hatred in my gaze as I saw the man responsible for what happened dressed in red and blue.

From that point on, I swore that I would take him down for what he did to my little girl.

No matter what.
