She doesn't shut herself in her bedroom.
She tells her mother about the girl. Her mother is ecstatic.
It's a good day.
During dinner, her mother takes the responsibility to tell Lynn's father about Lynn's new friend. Lynn smiles as her mother talks.
Her father kisses her on the forehead.
Lynn finishes the night reading the book the girl had said she loved. It is a marvelous book.
