Lynn's mother made her a cup of tea.

Lynn sat at her desk, a book propped against her arm.

Her eyes drooped with sleep.

One more page.

Her tea arrives. She smiles while taking the mug.

Lynn's mother is concerned. Her daughter has no friends.

After trying to converse with her daughter -and failing- Lynn's mother leaves the room.

It is silent in Lynn's room.

The sun sets. The sky turns a brilliant orange.

Lynn's mother urged Lynn to take a walk to 'get some fresh air'.

Lynn wants to refuse. She wanted to stay in her room and read a book.

But she left, wanting to make her mother happy.

She wanders down the sidewalk. The soft noise of music plays duly in her ears. Her mind drifts.

Drifts back to the boy.
