Forever and Always

Chapter 12

Ricky's POV

Devin suddenly looked really uncomfortable and start nervously playing with the end of Lucifer's leash.

"Are you alright?" I ask

"Um yeah... I - I think.. I um.. Have feelings for you," he said as he looks down at the ground.

I feel my stomach do flips and my heart skip a couple beats. I look at Devin and with slightly shakes hands I gently turn his head so he's looking at me and I lean in and kiss him softly. I feel him drop his dogs leash and he pulls me closer deepening the kiss and that's when Lucifer feels left out and decides to jump on is and lick out faces.

Devin laughs and pushes his dog off us, "You're such an attention whore," he says through his laughter.

I join him in laughing and he intertwines our fingers and looks over at me.

"So is it safe to say you like me too?" He asks stills smiling.

"Hmmm, I think it would be," I say smiling, "but if we do this I would prefer to not tell the guys until we're sure it's going to work out between us."

He thinks for a moment, "Yeah I think that's a good idea, you ready to walk back?"

"Yeah, let's go," I say smiling.

He picks up the leash he dropped with one hand while holding my hand with the other, and we begin the walk back to my apartment. We mostly walk in a comfortable silence, we would make the occasional comment now and then but for the most part we just enjoyed each others company. Both of us were the quieter ones of the band and I think that why we got along so well. We could sit in complete silence for hours and it would never get awkward, and when we talked we could talk about anything and everything.

When we get back to my apartment building its 5:00 and the tour bus was gonna be over at 5:30, so Devin and I go up to my apartment and do a general clean up then go back down stairs and get outside as the bus is pulling up.

Devin looks at me, "I don't think our timing couldn't be more perfect," he say.

I chuckle softly and get on the bus with Ghost and Lucifer following close behind me. We texted Jordan earlier to make sure he was cool with taking  Lucifer back to Kylie and he was okay with it as long as he was a well behaved dog, which he was.

"I could put the window down if our guest of honor wants to ride shotgun," Jordan offers.

"He would love that," Ghost replies.

Devin looks at Lucifer and points at the front  seat as Jordan rolls the window down and Lucifer happily hops up there and sits with his head resting on the window. We drive for a few minutes  hen pull up in front of Kylie's house.

I look at Devin, "Want me to take him up?" I ask gently.

He clears his throat, "No, I think I should do it."

I nod and he gets up, grabbing Lucifer's leash on the way and head out the door with his dog following close behind him.

Devin's POV

I walk up the steps to Kylie's door, but before I knock I crouch down in front of Lucifer and give him a hug, a kiss on the nose, and a few last scratches before I leave again for 3 more months. I then stand up and knock on the door.

A few moments later Kylie opens the door, "Oh, hey Dev," she says with an obviously fake smile.

I fake smile back "Hi," I pull Lucifer's leash out of my back pocket, "Thanks again for watching him," I say as I hand it over.

"Oh it's no problem, he's a good dog," she looks down at her feet,  "Um, I was wondering if I could go over to your place and get my stuff? I'll leave my key  on the counter on my way out." She says softly.

I rub the back of my neck nervously, "Oh yeah of course, just make sure you remember to lock the door on your way out."

"I will."

"Alright, well I'll see you in 3 months to pick up my dog."

"Yep, see ya later," she says and steps back so Lucifer can go in.

I turn and walk away and I hear the door click shut behind mess I walk towards the bus.
