Divide and Conquer Pt 2 - Mission One

When Kiera looks up and brushes the fair out of her face, there is a clear look of horrified surprise on her face. Gone is the bedroom and the Major. Now she is on the dirt of a hiking trail, alone in the middle of an unfamiliar forest. Kiera scrambles to her feet and looks around, looking for signs of any of people.

[Kiera]: "Major?!" Kiera frowns when her shout doesn't echo.

There's a strange hooting sound, almost like the cough of a great cat and the laugh of a hyena. Kiera's face twists with fear and she starts to run along the path, fleeing the sounds of pursuit. As she runs, the forest around ehr reveals signs of persuit, but offers no glimpse of whatever is chasing her. The path Kiera is running on becomes more and more craggy, rough and washed out.

Kiera has to jump over a little gully that bisects the path, and ends up tumbling on the other side as the gully stretches wider, Kiera barely making it across. As she scrambles to her feet, she's joined on one side by JD, on the other by the Major and they both try to pull her off on opposite sides of the path. Kiera pulls free of both men and retreats away, clearly unable to trust either. When JD and the Major move as if to come after Kiera, they get in each other's way and the two men start to duke it out. They literally tear pieces from each other, peeling away layers of recognizable humanity and revealing rival chess pieces; white and black knights. Kiera flees them both, tripping off the edge of the now non-existant path and tumbling down a bush filled hill. When she comes to a stop at the bottom of the hill, Kiera is dazed and scratched up but otherwise unharmed.

[Kiera]: "What the hell is gonig on?" sits up and the environment around her has changed again. Kiera now finds herself in a hospital room, dressed in patient white scrubs and without a single clue in her room to fill in the blanks, other than the fact that she's restained to the bed .The door to the room opens and in walks a fresh faced JD, wearing a doctor's smock. Kiera stares at him in shock, stunned silent.

[JD]: "Miss Beckett? Ah you're already awake, good. Your test results are back, and it looks like you're having less frequent episodes. Are you still having delusions, or do you find yourself more capable of telling reality apart from the fantasy now?"

[Kiera]: mouth opening and closing like a gaping fish, unable to respond right away "This isn't real." voice rough sounding

[JD]: sighs and scribbles something down on the clipboard in his hands. He walks around the end of Kiera's bed and sits in a chair next to her "Miss Beckett, this is very real. You've been a patient at the Sisters of Mercy for the last three years now. You presented with a complete break from reality, spouting nonsense. After I became your doctor, your delusions eventually shifted so that you unfortunately thought we were an engaged couple as opposed to doctor and patient. After you accepts that you and I have never had a relationship outside of the doctor patient paradigm, you seemed to sink into a paranoid delusion and returned to spouting nonsense about Ewoks and elsewheres and bubbles." rubs at the crease between his eyes "Do you remember any of this Miss Beckett?"

[Kiera]: stares at the doctor JD and slowly shakes her head negative. JD writes something else down on the clipboard and sighs again

[JD]: "This continuing delusion and amnesia is worrisome. You were showing such progress Miss Beckett." stands up and walks to door, but pauses before leaving "I'm gonig to have to recommend some more...drastic measures, the specialist is going to come in and see you shortly." leaves

Camera angle swings to view Kiera from bird's-eye-view as she immediately struggles with the restraints, trying to reach them with her teeth to undo. That failing, she continues to try and writhe free, not realizing that the door to her room has opened again. A hospital scrubs and clean cut Major walks in and watches as she struggles.

[Crowe]: "You know I'm supposed to sedate you if I catch you trying to escape again. Why do you like to put me in these positions Kiera?" tone amused

[Kiera]: gasps, then smiles "Major! I saw Barry Hoover, he's using JD's face again. Get me out of here, we can grab him and bring him back to Wilson. Just think of what we could learn from him!"

[Crowe]: frowns and shakes his head "Damn, we were really hoping that the latest drug trials would help. I like you Kiera, I really do, but I'm not the Major. You've suffered a severe mental schizm sweety, and reality plays tricks on you now. Here, I've got your daily medication, it seems to help. Let's get you to take these, and by the time I'm finished my deliveries, I can swing back and you should recognize me for me this time, ok?"

[Kiera]: stares at the Major, face looking disbelieving "Get out."

[Crowe]: sighs but smiles and walks closer anyways "Kiera, I have to make sure you take these. Come on, you trust me, we've been through this a hundred times over the last three years. Please? Do it for me?" smiles and holds out a little paper cup with three pills in it.

[Kiera]: "I can't. It'd be easier if I believed this, but I don't." shakes head

[Crowe]: steps towards her anyways, when the same car that smashed into the restaurant suddenly smashes into the hospital room

Kiera screams as the bed is hurtled over, the restraints tearing free and sending her flying into the wall. She slumps to the base of the wall and groans, trying to sit up. As she does so, she sees the environment actually change. The hospital room had white walls that were peeling and crumbling, gone was the Major/doctor and the rest of the room had been filled with wrecked and destroyed cars. Kiera stood up and now found herself in the middle of a scrapyard. The same hooting laugh that chased her through the forest echoed out and loudly.

[Kiera]: starts to run, stumbling and scraping against the twisted, jagged metal. She is forced to climb over and crawl under massive metal pieces as the hoot chases her down, a tapping and russling against the metal she has just passed by alerting her to how close persuit is. She scrambles to the top of a pile and sees where she can run and jump across to a safer area. But instead she turns to face the sounds of persuit, hands on her hips "I'm right here! Let's END THIS!" before the hooting can approach though, the pile she is standing on quakes and she topples down it...
