"So, how did it go?" Zoey asks.

Honestly, Britney didn't know how to answer that.

She was never like this before in an interview. Yes, she would always be straightforward but she would never be expected to be asked a very crucial question about family.

That's why she thinks there's a problem with them.

Some people would think she was crazy, but even if she was a 9 year old who didn't know anything about the cruel, outside world. She could read people like open books.

And that man who asked her about fixing seemed like he was desperate. Trying to mend something before it shattered into a million pieces that can't be fixed or replaced.

She was considered a very... Open eyed child since birth. When she was given to the orphanage, she knew she wasn't like most girls because of her ability to think much more of something instead of understanding it the way normal toddlers do.

For example, an 'I'm fine' won't convince her any day until she sees proof. She would think harder about words which would sound irrelevant but actually have a deeper meaning.

She just wasn't a happy go lucky child, she was a thinker.

This would cause her to space out often, to be confident, and to just find her writing and reading books and journals instead of playing outside. When she does though, she would trace lines on tree trunks and look at people walking by, trying to determine their feelings.

"Brit? You there?" Zoey asks, waving her hand infront of her face. Britney blinks before slowly nodding her head. Zoey sighs, shaking her head. "There you go, spacing out again. What are you thinking about?" Zoey asks, curiously.

Britney simply shrugs and shakes her head, "something you wouldn't understand" she tells her best friend. Zoey rolls her eyes and scoffs.

"Ofcourse" she says. Britney giggles in response and a small smirk slowly makes its way onto Zoey's face.

Suddenly, the door bursts open. Aunt Trisha and the 5 boys come through it and stand infront of everybody in the room.

"So, I'm going to let these 5 young men tell you who they've chosen and after that, the lucky one may go up and pack, alright?" Aunt Trisha says. All the kids nod and she smiled at the 5 boys, silently giving them the stage.

The same man who asked Britney the question steps forward with a small smile.

"So, I uh, I guess the lucky girl is--" suddenly, the Irish blonde starts making a drumroll type of noise, making all the kids laugh.

Liam manages to muster up a smile at Niall's dorkiness and turns back towards the kids.

"The girl we're taking home today is uh, Britney Matthews."

As the words left his mouth, Britney stared wide-eyed at the brunette. Feeling stunned and shock filled.

"Brit, oh my god! Your finally getting adopted!" Zoey whisper-yells into her ear making her smile. Britney hugs the blonde before rushing upstairs to pack her small back-pack.

She stuffs her dirty, blue bag with her short amount of clothes, her savings and her journal and books before zipping it shut and grabbing her older brothers SnapBack. She smiled fondly at the headwear before putting it on with pride.

"I'm finally going to have a home" Britney silently whispers to herself, making her think about her old home that consisted of her brother, her mother and her father who passed a long time ago.

She shook the negative thoughts out of her head before slinging the backpack over her shoulder and rushing downstairs.

When she reach the final step of the staircase she would probably never be able to climb again, she looked back and smiled at the place she called her home for 4 years.

And let me tell you, as that girl walked to her new guardians, her head was as high as a flying eagle.

••

Liam looked fondly at the girl who is.. Well, technically his daughter.

Once he actually thinks about it, reality comes crashing down on him like a rocket.

His daughter. All of the boys daughter.

They were Guardians.

Liam's nerves started tingling when he actually thinks about it, making him feel nervous and scared about the consequences.

But as Liam carried a sleeping Britney into her room, he knew that he had made the right choice.

He would make sure of it.

Liam gently placed Britney on her bed, making her squirm a little before her soft snores filled the room.

He sighs before walking outside, closing the door as silently as possible.

Liam walks downstairs only to be met with 4 boys on the couch playing FIFA on the X-box. He groans in irritation before approaching the Lazy boys he called his best friends.

It hasn't been one day of Britney being in the house and they're acting as if they didn't waste two hours in an orphanage to bring a girl home who they have to actually take care of.

All Liam knew, was that it was going to take a long while to adjust to this new lifestyle.

"Liam, do we have any leftover beer in the fridge?"

"What? No!"

Louis furrows his eyebrows in confusion. "Why not? We bought a whole pack a week ago"

Liam looked like he honestly wanted to jump Louis right then and there, but he decided to calmly remind him. "Louis, we have a kid in the house. We can't drink beer"

Louis groaned in frustration before plopping himself on the couch and brining out his iPhone.

"Hi"

Liam turned his head and was met with a sleepy Britney. She rubbed her eyes and yawned before going to the couch and sitting next to Louis.

Louis looked up from his phone and at Britney curiously, but his eyes widened once Britney started snuggling closer to him, basically cuddling him.

Louis look at Liam in panic, not knowing what to do. Liam just mouthed a 'go with it' and left him there.

Let's just say that Liam was surprised to see two very cuddly, sleeping children on the couch When he returned.
