Something rushes at her, faster than lightning. She falls to the uneven ground, her shoulder taking in the brutal impact. Her eyes fall onto the face of her protector. Her eyes widen. The same emerald eyes, still burning. After all these years, he is here. But he is on the verge of fading and again, she cannot help, she can only watch. Tears finally trail endlessly down her face and she gives into them, never trying to smother them anymore. She crawls to his side, trying to block the flow of crimson, staining her hands and the ground. The soldier who tried to take her life lies on the ground, gashes on his torso, betrayed by one from his own side.
