After the routine I was about to press playback so we could re-do it, just when I saw Justin walking up the football and he looked really upset.

“JUSTIN!” I yelled. He looked up and smiled weakly and went straight over to the bleachers taking a seat. “Hey girls I’ll be right back.” I said to my teammates. “Demi can you lead the group for me.” I asked. Demi nodded her head knowing what I was about to do.

I walked up the bleachers to where Justin was sitting and sat and front of him turning my body so I faced him.

“Hey Jay, are you okay?” I asked looking at him. He wouldn’t make eye contact so I cupped his face in my hands and made him look up at me and I was right. He had been crying. “Jay what’s wrong?” I asked with worry in my voice.

“Aimee broke up with me.” He said. I moved so I was now standing up in front of him getting in between his legs and leaned down and hugged him.

“I’m sorry Jay.” I whispered in his ear. “How about, I cancel cheer practice early, and we can go back to your house and stuff our faces.” I chuckled looking down at him.

Justin looked up at me and smiled. “Are you sure?”

“Yeah, we basically know all the routines from the back of our heads.” I laughed. I turned to face the team. “PRACTICE OVER!” I yelled. All the girls cheered and Demi gave me a ‘what for’ look and I just gave her ‘we will talk later’ look. It’s funny how Demi and I can read each others facial expressions.

“Now let’s go.” I said as we walked down the bleachers.

“Don’t you need to change first?”

“Nope.” I said. We began walking to my car. “You know, I feel like I’m the one who supposed to be the broken hearted one, and you’re the one that’s supposed to be comforting me.” I chuckled. I heard Justin chuckle too and saw him smile.

That smile will and already has killed me.

We finally arrived at Justin’s house about 25 minutes later and got out and went to his kitchen.

“So you got any ice cream?” I smiled.

“Plenty.” He laughed. I went over to the freezer and grabbed one container of ice cream and Justin got two spoons out and we began devouring the ice cream.

As we were eating we were joking with each other when all of a sudden I got a brain freeze.

“OH MY GOSH I HATE BRAIN FREEZES!” I yelled. I dropped my spoon and squeezed my eyes shut when I felt fingers rubbing my temples.

“See, when you were a little kid, didn’t you ever learn not to eat ice cream fast?” Justin chuckled.

“Oh shut up!” I said. Soon the pain stopped and I opened my eyes again and saw Justin staring at me.

Oh those eyes.

“Ho—how about we go play basketball?” I stumbled out.

“Sure.” Justin laughed. “Actually more like me shooting hoops and you’re just cheering for me.” He smirked. I gave him a ‘whatever’ smile and we walked out in his back yard. This is actually the first time I’ve been in his backyard. It was actually a nice sized backyard. They had a swing set—I’m assuming for Jazzy, and a rim hooked to the garage—I’m assuming for Justin.

Justin grabbed the ball and began shooting baskets while I just stood there. He turned to me and gave me a smiled. “Well are you just gonna stand there, or start cheering for me?” He teased.

“No.” I smiled crossing my arms over my chest.

“Aw c’mon. Please.” He begged

“Fine.” I huffed. “Go Justin, go Justin, goooooooooo Justin.” I cheered with no enthusiasm at all.
