Mackenzie's POV.
"Mom!" I yelled running down the steps. "Mooom!" I raced around the house looking for my mom, she didn't come home from work last night. I stopped at her office door pushing it open, I walked in and looked around, nothing. I turned around and saw her. Dead. On the floor. I screamed and cried trying to run but every time I ran out of the house I would end up right where I started. It was like a loop. A never ending loop.

"Kenzie!", "Kenzie!!" I heard my name which stired me awake.
"Mmh." I groaned grogily. "Come on we're leaving." She wisper yelled. "What?" I asked surprised as she yanked me out of bed.
She had only one suit case packed for each of us.
I put on my shoes and grabbed a hoodie. She did the same and grabbed my hand and we headed out the front door.
When we walked outside I saw police cars and police tape blocking off the perimeter of our house.
"What happened!?!" I asked tightening my grip on her hand.
"I don't know but were leaving" she said running through the yard.
Once we we're out of sight We walked again."I'm hungry." I whined tugging on her sweater sleeve.
"Lucky for you I grabbed the rainy day jar of money and all of mom and dads credit cards." She smirked.
We walked down the street and stopped at Burger king. We ordered and sat down.
"Where are we gonna go?" I questioned tilting my head to the side. "Umm well..." she trailed off.
"You don't know do you." I said looking down. "We can figure it out I promise." She said sticking out her pinkie.
I locked our pinkies and she kissed them, maaking me giggle.
Maddies POV.
After we we're done eating we checked into a motel. I put down Mackenzie and covered her with a blanket.
******skip to morning*******
I heard someone banging on the door. "What the hell." I whispered, I looked through the peep hole and saw two police officers standing with a social worker.
I got mackenzie up and ran out the back way. (Motels don't have 2 doors it's for the sake of the story)
"I'm not going to let us get separated and taken into some abusive Foster home." I said to Mackenzie. She nodded and laid her head on my shoulder.
A/n so how did you guys like the first chapter I like this book a lot better.
