Sam's POV
I told Dean to go get us some dinner. As soon as the Impala pulled out, Kat and I hit the road. "Okay, so I put all my cell phones on the table," I replied. "Along with yours except for the one Dean doesn't know. I also deleted that number from every phone."
"Are you sure he won't find us?" Kat asked.
"Yeah," I nodded. "I know my brother." I drove for hours. "Where exactly are we going?"
"Well," Kat sighed as she looked at the street signs. "Last place Dean would probably look is in NYC." She looked at me. "And I'm sure Nick won't mind letting us stay at his place while we look for one."
"Okay," I side. She gave me his address and I let her sleep. Around 3 a.m., I pulled up into his driveway. I turned off the car. "Kat?" I shook her lightly. "Hey Kat."
"Hm?" Kat moaned.
"We're here," I replied. Kat opened her eyes, slowly. "It's 3 a.m."
"Seriously?" Kat asked as she got out of the car. "It's cold." I put my jacket around her arms. "Thank you."
"You go knock on the door and I'll grab the two suitcases," I nodded.
"Okay," Kat nodded. She walked up to the front door and knocked. The door opened. "Hello Nick." She got salt thrown at her. "Really?"
"I'm just making sure," Nick scratched his head. "What are you doing here at 3 a.m.?"
"Sam and I ran away to have a normal life," Kat replied. I pulled the suitcases to the front door with me. "We were wondering if we could stay here until we find a place of our own."
"Yeah," Nick nodded. "Come on in." We walked in and he closed the door. He had a fire going on the fireplace. "Just make yourselves at home. Uhm, you'll get the extra room and he can take the couch." Nick put his cup in the sink and washed it. "Do you need a job too?"
"We're looking tomorrow," I nodded.
"Did you just get home from work?" Kat asked. "Or were you just relaxing?"
"I got home thirty minutes ago," Nick sighed. His phone rang and he picked up. "Amaro." He groaned. "Yeah, I'll be there." He hung up. "I gotta go in. I'll see you guys later."
"Okay," Kat sighed as Nick grabbed his keys. "Do you still need your sister to do your laundry?"
"If you don't mind," Nick nodded as he put on his coat. He kissed her cheek. "Can you bring me my lunch by the precinct tomorrow?"
"Sure," Kat shrugged. Nick left. "I took care of him a lot."
"Why don't you go to sleep and I'll do everything?" I offered. She nodded and went to her room. "The things I do for her."
"Sam," Kat walked into the living room. "This is how to do the laundry."
"Okay," I nodded as she put the list on the kitchen counter and went back to her room. I looked at the list. "Whoa, okay. That has plenty of details." I turned it over. "And it's long and extensive. Okay, Sam. It's alright." I was talking to myself. "You've been through worst situations like fighting demons and been possessed. What can a few loads of laundry do?"
I eventually passed out because I woke up on the couch to Kat folding the laundry. "Hey," Kat smiled.
"Hey," I sighed as I sat up. "I was going to do that."
"You fell asleep," Kat nodded. "It's okay. Don't worry about it." She finished folding the last shirt. "I got it done."
"Okay," I replied. "Are you about to head out?"
"Soon," Kat nodded. "I gotta find a job that won't mind that I'm pregnant."
"I'm sure the police department won't mind," I added as I got up and hugged her. "You are an amazing detective after all."
"Yeah, but I don't necessarily have a badge," Kat sighed as she picked up the basket and put it on top of the washer. "I also have to take Nick his lunch today too."
"Yeah," I replied. "Look, we're starting over new. We gotta find a job. I have to get ready."
"You do that," Kat smiled. I got showered and dressed. "Let's go." We started walking around New York. I went into many hardware shops and mechanical jobs. I walked out of the hardware store. "Hey, what's up?"
"I got the job," I smiled. "I'm going to stay here and learn the ropes and I'll be over at the precinct soon."
"That's where I'm headed," Kat smiled. "So, I'll see you there."
"Yeah," I nodded. We kissed and she left. "It's time for our new lives to start."
