I was looking forward to going to school today and I was on top of the world today, while Aunt Jane was taking care of mom she was going to the hospital today. I was very happy and today was my second revision session with her.  While I was at school I was surprise to see sally hanging out with her, but that just make things easier. Because I was the most popular boy in school and I was hanging out with sally and publicly acknowledging her, people in my school will see her as popular and all the other popular girls like for example Chloe will hang out with her. I walked over to their table to have lunch with them “Hey Sal, how’s it going?” she gave a smile and almost giggled.  “Hi Josh. What makes me your favourite person today?” I thought carefully of the right thing to say.  (You never know what will make a girl go mad) “Just the fact that you’re helping me with my essay and algebra, to me it’s just like your saving my life”. “You’re welcome josh” sally said and smiled sweetly, while Chloe wore and ugly frown on her face. “So josh, are you just going to sit down and ignore me” Chloe asked woefully. “That’s exactly what I was goanna do Chloe”. And I took my attention off her “Sally do you want to hang somewhere else, I have an equation I have to ask you about”. Sally looked unsure but then agreed.

“That was stupid making me ditch Chloe like that” I look at sally and saw she was really angry with me. “I just wanted to hang out with you sally, and before you know it she’ll turn you into her making you take gymnastics class, take you shopping, change your hair and personality, stuff like that, making you another mirror of her.  Sally rolled her eyes “She’s not that shallow Joshua, she’s actually a good and nice person if you get to know her, and you’re quite similar in a way with similar personality”. I snigger and laugh “me and Chloe similar personality, she has no personality”.  Yes she does! Sally said “you were just too busy with her physical appearance that you notice nothing else, like she’s a sweet and kind hearted person”. I shrugged “yeah whatever, why are we talking about Chloe?” and we continued walking.

While I was putting my book in my locker waiting to go home, Michael walked up to me and we started talking. “Smooth move man, going up to her about your homework, there was no other way you could have got up to the geek without her suspecting. Nice one man. “Yeah it just came off the top of my head. I’m going studying with her tomorrow after school. He smiled and we high fived “nice one man, remember you have two months”. I went home and my mom was sitting on her chair waiting for me which is a good sign she’s getting better and she’s back with good news from the hospital “Hey sweetheart, my knight and shining armour, how was your day at school.  I flung my bag on the floor, took off my stupid blazer (don’t know why my school has this stupid uniform anyways) and sung into the chair. “it was ok, same as usually, teacher going about boring stuff that sound like Chinese which seems to last for a century, me sleeping in all 6 lessons  and home work at the end of class and detention after”.

She smiled “Good, nothing out of the usually then” I smile and gave a great big yawn “no I’m afraid”. Her face suddenly turned serious “the doctor said that the chemo isn’t working and the cancer has spread around my body, and I might not have much time left. But you know they don’t know what they’re doing, I’m going to fight it with everything I’ve got and I’m not going to leave you all alone by yourself, no way in hell.  “I know mom” I said knowing fully well is not up her (if it was she wouldn’t have cancer in the first place). “Now back to more pleasant topic how sally is”. Mom asks with a bubbly enthusiasm I haven’t seen in her in a long time. “She’s great and we are revising tomorrow, and the revision is really helping.
