i hummed a 'my bad' and proceeded.

"before i do, i'm going to ask you again savannah."

i paused, waiting for a reaction from her.

nothing.

"why were you late, did you bunk?"

she let out a small aggravated laugh.

"i was meeting my new tutor."

my subconscious laughed at me as i took her statement into thought.

"excuse me?" i was surprised, however, i was slightly hurt.

"i said-" she started her previous statement again until I stopped her with a hand.

"savannah, i'm confused why-"

"i asked my aunt if i could get a new tutor, she was confused herself. so really i shouldn't be here."

i placed the phone down in defeat.

i leaned back and sat down in my seat.

there was a long moment of silence and i didn't enjoy it.

usually this was when we would start our tutoring session.

i was immensely hurt.

i stood up and made my way to the door.

i opened it, waiting for her to move.

i cleared my throat, whispering a harsh whisper.

"you can leave."

she stood up, taking her bags into her hands and made a beeline towards the door.

when she got closer to the threshold, an object had fallen from her jacket.

i bended over, attempting to pick it up.

"i got it-" savannah managed to blurt.

i brushed her off and picked it up anyway.

eyebrows knit, i looked towards savannah.

"are you fucking kidding me savannah?" i held the object in my hand and waved it in front of her face.

i closed the door, blocking her way out.

"you're not leaving until you explain where you really were."

savannah's pov.

"hey, how was your day?"

"nothing exciting." i muttered, slipping into the wooden stool that sat behind the counter.

i sighed, running a hand through my hair.

"i-" i started but then stopped.

i was scared, i'm not good at lying.

i picked up from where i left off.
