~Gabriel Pov~

I woke up from the beaming sunlight over my eyes from my window. I groaned in exhaustion. I didn't go to sleep until two in the morning after bawling my eyes out because of the secret i've told Zayn.

I slid from under the thick duvet, walking to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I let out a sigh, in disappointment. My eyes had bags on them. My hair is like everywhere. Still some dried tears. Look at me, I'm a wreck.

I was never what I wanted to be.

A million thoughts crowded my mind. I'm so done with everything, I can't live my life like this.

Tears formed my eyes the more I think about it.

I shook my head and fighting back tears I decided to focus on something more positive. My pregnancy is going great is what Dr. Sampson informed me few days ago. And I can't wait to meet my little bundle of joy. Placing my hand over my baby bump a smile formed at my lips instantly helping me forget anything else. I couldn't help but think of wanting to go somewhere far away with my child and raise him or her on my own. It wouldn't be easy but I know I can do it.

I brushed my teeth and tied my hair in a messy bun, then slipping on my slippers before going downstairs into the kitchen. It was pretty quiet in the entire house so I assume everyone is probably sleeping. I remove the kettle from the stove and filled it up with water to make tea before taking out a mug.

"Don't mind if i join you for a cuppa?" I heard a husky voice from behind me. I swiveled on my heels to see Alex, Angie's date entering the kitchen. He was wearing a heather grey v neck and faded jeans. And his hair disheveled. "Whoa, I'm so sorry if i startled you." He threw his hands up defensively. "I didn't mean to-"

"No.. no its alright. Its just ..did you stay over or-"

"Oh, um.. well, yeah. Angie wanted me to." He chuckled, taking a seat at one of the stools at the counter. "But don't worry, we were on our best behavior."

I let out a soft chuckle before turning around and grabbing another cup from out of one of the cupboards. "So you like Angie?"

He smiled looking down at his intertwined hands rested on the counter top. "Yes, I do. I've been thinking maybe taking the next step in our relationship."

"Really?" I say with raised eyebrows.

"Yeah. That's if its okay with her, I really like her. But I don't want to rush her or anything."

"You're great for my cousin. I can see why she likes you."

He chuckled. I could see a hint of blush on his cheeks. "Thanks."

"You're welcome," I smiled softly, as the sound of the kettle whistled breaking the silence between us.

I went over and filled our cups, setting his cuppa in front of him as he began adding cream and sugar, stirring with a spoon. "Are you feeling alright?" He asked.

I looked up and met his gaze briefly before looking away, taking a seat at the counter before him. "Yeah why?"

"Nothing really. Its just seem like you're rather upset." he say, taking a short sip from his cuppa.

I shrugged a little. "I'm fine, just not feeling well."

He took another sip before setting his tea down. "Okay. But I know there's something bothering you. Does it has something to do with that Zayn guy?"

I looked up at him with surprise. "Why you say that?"

"I saw you and him talking at the party, then he pulled you both somewhere in private. I don't what's going on, then at dinner, I saw him looking at you across the table." He say. "What is he, like your ex boyfriend?"

"My best friend... well, was my best friend." I said, twirling the mug under my eyes.

Alex nodded slowly. "I see. I wasn't sure who he was. I wasn't sure if you were upset because of him, I started to pull him to the side and give him a little a guy pep talk. Or much worser than that."

I chuckled softly at his protectiveness. "I appreciate that, Alex. But it has nothing to do with him, I swear." I lied again.

He smiled. "Okay. I have four sisters which makes me the second oldest and I look out for all of them. Now that I met this amazing girl and your cousin, i can't help but do the same."

"Thank you. I'm happy Angie has met you."

He nodded. "And i'm happy to have met her as well."

"Um, I didn't get to know you much. But what do you do for fun?" I asked, taking a sip from my tea trying to take my mind off my personal problems.

"Well, I've been busy with my practice."

"Really?" I said in delight. "You're a doctor?"

"Yeah. Right after i was accepted into the medical school, my dad went and spread the word to everyone at his work. And he was pleased that i'd join him in the profession."

"I think it's a wonderful profession." I say.

"If it hadn't been for my dad, I wouldn't have never thought of becoming a doctor."

"How so?" I asked seemed interested.

"He was the one who sent me through med school. He actually paid for everything. I only wish I could have repaid him some how before he, uh, died."

I frowned after I heard that. There was sadness in his tone when he said the last part. "What happened to him?"

"He was killed in a car accident."

"I'm so sorry."

He nodded, looking down at his cup before he spoke. "The day before he died, he took me out for lunch at a restaurant. Just him and I. And we got into an argument. He convinced me to become a surgeon. I told him that's his life.. and it's not a life that interests me at all. And that I felt sorry for him."

I kept silent and listened. "He was upset and at that I stormed out the restaurant. He tried calling me attempting to make amends with me, but I ignored all his calls. We haven't gotten along much through on the years, my father and I. I just wished I make it up to him."

"You repaid him when you succeeded. I'm sure that was all he wanted."

He nodded slowly. "Contrary to what most people think, he was a good man."

I gave him soft smile. "I'm sure he was. I wish I knew my father.. but I don't think i ever will." I said the last part almost in a whisper but I'm sure he heard me.

"What ever happened to him?" I heard him asked.

"He walked out when I was younger.. I wish I knew why." I began, peering down at my tea before meeting his eyes. "My mother still don't know to this day where he went off to. I've seen pictures of him, but i never really knew him."

"Well, he's missing out the most important thing.. how has such an amazing daughter."

A happy smile was sent my way and I greatly returned it.

We sat in an comfortable silence for a few seconds until he stood up from the stool. "Well, I better go check on Angie. I don't know if she's awake or not. Nice talking with you and thanks for the tea." He said as he set his cup in the sink as he walked by.

"You're welcome," I smiled.

I let out a heavy sigh, the thought of this child I'm carrying is going to be without a father.

"Yes he should give you a call right away.." The secretary ended the call before she looked up at the girl standing in front of her desk. "Can I help you?"

"Um, yes. I was wondering if Detective Ellis's in."

"Yes he is. Go down the hall and his office is on the left hand side."

The blue eyed girl nodded a polite thank you and headed towards the detective's office. When she made it to his door, uncertain of what she should do she stood outside the door.

When she made up her mind, she raised her hand and began to knock. One knock. Two. Three.

"Come on in." She heard his coarse voice coming from inside.

She walked inside to see the Detective Ellis at his desk. He appears to be really tall from afar, you can see that he is an average five-foot something; he just appears taller because he has got that menacing look about him. The kind of look that makes you feel insignificant with just a twitch of his eyebrow. His narrow temples are dusted with a light gray, but the rest of his head displays a full, bushy, jet black mane.

He looked up and instantly knew the visitor. "Miss. Perrie Edwards. What a pleasant surprise to see you here. Please have a seat." He gestured his hand out to the chair in front of his desk.

"Thank you." Perrie gave an soft smile as she took a seat, still uneasy of being there. But she only came there for one thing-- payback.

"What brings you here, Miss. Edwards?" Detective Ellis asked leaning forward slightly over his desk, clasping his hands together.

She started to feel like a child under his eyes. "Well, uh, its regarding the rape of my best friend, Gabriel Smith, on the night of Josh's party."

Detective Ellis let out a sigh before leaning back in his chair. "That poor girl won't say anything nor come forward. Its out of our hands."

"Actually, Detective Ellis.. that's why I'm here." Perrie began. "I know who did it."

Detective Ellis looked up at the young girl with furrowed eyebrows. "Impossible. How could you be so sure?"

Perrie went in her bag, pulling out her phone and unlocking the screen. She opened the file where the video was saved, before leaning forward handing her phone over to the confused man. "The proof is all there."
