Chapter 1

Wake up

Alessia's Pov

Sitting on a woman's lap, both on top of a bed as she intensely stares deep into my eyes. Her mouth moves along with her tongue, but I can't make out a word that leaves her lips. I see her desperately trying to get my attention, but she became a blur to me and my hearing wouldn't work properly. Both hands on my shoulder, she roughly shakes me. Quickly felt more conscious of my environment. A quick glance around the unfamiliar place caught my eyes, it's completely white. Then the women.

She felt so familiar to me compare to this mysterious room. Brunette, gorgeous green eyes with tears falling in a rapid speed leaving wet trails on her rosy cheeks, soft skin, but tough grip for sure. Overall, she's really beautiful and for some reasons, I feel undeniably close to her.

"... you listening? Can you hear me?...Say something, anything. I want to hear your voice again, it's been so long...way too long, bu-but now that you're here, I can help you. I would love to erase those horrible memories hunting you and ma-maybe I can who knows. Focus,"She yells out the last word in hopes my eyes could be a focus on hers.

"Wake up, I've been searching for you for months and doubted myself that I couldn't, but I have absolutely no idea of what kind of crap you've been through and that's why I'll help you, I always will. Remember were...," Before she could finish her kind word, she went in an uncontrollable sob with her head gently place on my shoulder.

"...best friend for life,"Then it hit me hard. She's the little girl I met years back and we would spend an incredible amount of time together with many memories to cherish. I smile widely at the girl supporting my weight.

"You remember that, huh? She softly smirks at my direction, but unfortunately, she frowns. Something must have crossed her mind 'cause she seemed to be thinking hard. Plus, she had slightly parted her lips before closing them leaving me curious. I waited a couple of seconds for her to say what she had to say.

"...So that means you'll always forgive me for my terrible mistakes, my regrets, right?" Her vision blur because of the tears that were building up and she let them fall. Confuse? Indeed, I am. I responded with a simple nod indicating that I would. Not thinking clearly.

She hugs me as if she was scared that I would disappear from her grasp in a matter of seconds. Even if she had her arms tightly around me hurting me just a little bit, I hug her back closing my eyes for a quick second.

As I open them back, my best friend was no longer there. I am laying down a bed staring at the room in a panic. There were some nude photos displayed on the walls, disturbing toys and sexy lingering on the table next to the bed. I try to get up, but chains were holding me back. Speaking, screaming, beatboxing, I was unable to do so.

I show weakness as I felt lonely desperate, the tears continue to roll down my cheeks. Trying to stay calm was hard especially since a man wearing only a pair of boxer march into the room. He walks slowly towards me and I struggle to get out of this uncomfortable bed.

"Baby doll, stop it. You know it very well that it feels amazing. It'll be quick and good. Huh, what do you think or...or maybe you like it rough?" His creepy voice spoke out loud.

He crawls on the bed, once in front of me, he spreads my legs apart and pulls my underwear in a fast motion. I gave my all to keep them squeezed together, but it was impossible for my strength to do so. He didn't lose his time and immediately took off his boxer. I tightly close my eyes didn't want to look at the man above me. I felt him come closer towards me, his lips tickling my ears.

"Open your eyes, you gorgeous thing. I wouldn't want you to sleep on my watch...wake up,"

I gasp as I wake up to reality.

My eyes roam around the room, the walls were painted in white and sitting beside me on a chair is my best friend Tori. She smiles nervously and tell me she's going to get a nurse, but I held her hand with force. Wait nurse? I'm in a hospital, great. Why am I here in the first place.

"How are you feeling?" Tori questions my well being. I feel perfectly fine except that my throat is dry as if I had visited a desert in the middle of nowhere trying to survive the heat of the sun. I point my mouth with my index finger.

"Hungry?" Shake my head side to side.

"Thirsty?" I nod rather quickly wanting to savour the cold water down my throat badly. She leaves the hospital room while I was stuck with multiple questions. Why am I here? How long? What was that nightmare I had experienced? When will I be able to eat food that does not come from hospitals?

Tori comes back with a water bottle and a nurse behind her with a clipboard, probably going to ask me several questions. She hands me the water and I drank half of it before twisting the bottle cap.

"What happened?" I ask with a husky voice. They both look unsure of what to say. "Why am I here?"

"Alessia, I'm going to ask you a couple of question. What's the last thing you remember doing?"

"I-i was having dinner with a couple of friends. We were eating at a fancy restaurant, but why am I here for" I repeat it again with no answer to my question.

"When were you born?"

"October 4, 1997. Can I please now what the bloody hell I'm doing here?"

"Date? What's the date?"

I grow under my breath, "I don't know, December third, something like that,"

"Year?"

"2015. Now tell why I'm in a stinky white hospital," This nurse is getting on my nerve. Is it that bad that I'm freaking out?

The nurse sighs with annoyance, "We don't exactly know, but apparently about five months ago your friends found you bleeding from your head and rush you to the emergency room. Police have tried to investigate the matter but found nothing at all concerning your head injury. Who are your family member," I froze the moment she told me I was in a coma for five months. I lost five months of my life that I will never get back. I could spend all my money and get it back, but impossible to get back my time. It's like watching a video that you thought it was dumb and you wish you can actually have your minutes back.

"Do you remember who your family member's are?" I most of stayed silence for a while, but I did not forget my people. She asks me several other question and I notice that Tori has been horribly quiet, but I still answered the nurse with every question send my way.

Later on, the nurse asks Tori to go on the halls to talk privately, I was left thinking on my own and how much I wanted this to be a dream. Not that I liked school, but I still missed I huge part of my studies that is really important for me to go through.

A few minutes later, Alessia enters the room once again and sat on the bed, I decide to break the silence, "How come no one know how I got into a coma?" She didn't utter a word until a couple of seconds later.

"I-i don't know Alessia, we um..found you outside, in your backyard bleeding and um...we have no idea what happen, but um...you have amnesia, " I could barely hear her word, but I manage to. I can feel my heart pumping loudly.

I didn't dare to say something, so she continues, "We found you on April, you lost like four months of memory..." I feel so many emotions, but I mostly feel miserable and I cry my eyes out. Tory hugs me as fast as possible and she cries along me.

"I missed you so much, it's been too long. Way too long,"

Today I learned that I lost...um....argh fuck math, I've been coma for five months and four months of lost memory, so five plus four equals nine, I lost nine months of my precious life. I wish I can have back every second of it even if I had many bad days or fights with my friends. Worst of all you can only live once, YOLO.
