Daughter Of The Dragons

Prologue

"Look at these two. So tiny, so fragile" Valka, the mother of newly born twins said to her husband, Stoick. He heartily agreed. He felt himself swell up with joy and pride at the sight of the two children. He already knew he would love them the minute he heard his wife was pregnant. And he was true to his word.

The little girl Maria cooed as as she wrapped her hand around her mother's finger, her striking blue eyes searching the house curiously and then meeting with her Mother's. The boy Hiccup was in Stoick's arms peacefully sleeping. " I know that they will do something great in the future. " Valka commented. " And if they don't, who cares? My Hiccup will be the pride of Berk, and Maria the greatest Valkyrie, all the same!" Stoick replied. This is his perfect complete family. His beautiful wife Valka, his perfect children, Maria and Hiccup, and Him the Chief of Berk. Nothing could break this apart...Or so he thought.

3 months later was a huge dragon attack. Dragons swarmed the island as the chief gave orders for defense. He left his family in the house, praying to Odin and Thor that they be safe and went to battle those monsters.

Valka quietly sat on her bed, hugging her children near her as they hugged back. A roar was heard in the distance coming closer. Hiccup made a soft whimpering noise glancing over at his toy dragon his mother made for him. Maria felt almost obliviously happy, despite what happened outside. She giggled and cooed as her mother rocked her brother to sleep in his cot. The same could not be said for her mother. 'What if something happened to Stoick?' The roar was sounding louder and closer than before. The flapping of wings was heard directly on top of them.

Valka slowly went to the other side of the room to grab her sword when a deafening crash was heard. Her eyes widened as she saw a bright yellow and green monstrous nightmare jumped through a huge hole made on the roof. She looked on carefully trying to find the perfect time to attack but stopped dead in her tracks when heard Maria and Hiccup giggling.

She looked in awe as the nightmare crooned at Maria who was grasping it's Claw and cooed happily. She put the sword down and tried stepping closer but stopped when an axe was thrown at the Monstrous Nightmare but missed and hit the wall. "Valka!!!!" She heard Stoick shout. The monstrous nightmare growled and hissed at Stoick. It was about to pounce on him when Valka stopped him.

"Please." She said in a whisper. It looked at her with sad eyes and turned to Maria, who had silent tears streaming down her face. Valka widened her eyes. 'No. Don't take her please!'
But the dragon obviously didn't listen.

It held onto the back of Maria's shirt with it's teeth and flew away. "MARIA!!!!!!" Valka screamed. Stoick looked at Valka and rushed to her. He picked Hiccup who was crying. "M-mama!!!!! D-dada!!!!" They heard Maria scream. "M-mari!!!!" Hiccup screamed while crying. Valka cried loudly holding onto Stoick. He too shed silent tears. His son said 'Mari' as his first word whereas Maria, his daughter said her first words after being kidnapped... by dragons.
