I knock on the door waiting for a reply. Hearing a raspy voice telling me come in I slowly open the door. "Hokage sama" I say as I bow. "Oh hello Hotaru what are you here to speak about" he say I take of my mask I set it on his desk. "Im retiring I will live in The tenshi's cabin in the woods at outskirts of konoha and will no longer be a konoha shinobi " I say as I take my headband of an set it on his desk by my Anbu mask. His eyes widen in shock he looked down at my mask and headband " Hotaru don't be hasty this will be a big impact if you, our hidden light retires you are basically the backbone of my Anbu, you are hero to our citizens you give them hope what am I gonna do without you" he says frantically. I sigh " I'm tired hokage I no longer want to be a ninja I no longer want to kill or hurt anybody just because it was a mission " I say with sadness. He look at me and sighs "those missions were to protect the people of konoha" he said solemnly. I can feel my anger starting to seeping through. "Don't bullshit me hiruzen you no good and well half of the people I've killed are innocent ,what happened to innocent before proven guilty , huh don't sit there and lie to me, do you even know how many children I've killed how many families I've destroyed how much I had to suffer" I basically screamed he looked and said nothing. I calmed down a little and said " don't sit there and say I'm a hero when all I've done is kill, I've killed so many I've lost count I'm not the backbone of the Anbu I'm there's weapon im sorry but I'm retiring and there is nothing you can do about it " was the last thing I said before I left. I sigh and run all the way to my cabin I unlock the door and go straight to bed I feel hot tears on my skin and sob quietly. I got up and sat at the edge of my bed and started sing a song my mother used to sing
I sigh I got up and decided to take a shower before going to bed I guess my life in solitude begins now
