[ New Home, Underground | 9 AM ]

"Good morning child, how was your sleep?" Toriel asked as you were waking up slowly.

"It was fine I suppose, thanks." You kindly lied and got up, immediately feeling the pain in your back. You didn't sleep at all. You never sleep. The nightmares would come back sooner or later.

"I made a butterscotch-cinnamon pie for you, (Y/N). I don't hope you dislike the flavors I used. I actually made the pie yesterday.. but I saw you stepped in it." She laughed and handed you the pie.

"Sorry, that wasn't my intention though." You giggled.

You heard Jack bark, happy to see you again. You pet him and he licked you excitedly. "I'm sorry to bother you with this, but do you have, by any change, some food for Jack?" You asked the lady.

"I have! That dog of yours may earn a treat, he's a real lifesaver. He came all the way here on his own." She said, getting up. "I'll be right back my child."

You saw the goat lady leave and closing the door. As you were scanning trough the room, you noticed another bed and a closet full of the same clothes you were wearing now. You also found a bunch of papers and a pencil. You went back to bed and wrapped the blankets around you like a burrito.

As time passed, Toriel came back with dog food for Jack and sat down. "So you already discovered the pencil, haven't you?" She smiled.

You nodded and drew the last detail of the drawing. "It's finished." You simply said.

"May I see?" She asked and moved to you as you handed her the drawing. "This is truly.. You have talent (Y/N). Thank you." She smiled.

As you wanted to reply, a burning pain shot trough your spine again. You couldn't help yourself but yell and swear. "Fucking flowey." You cursed under your breath.

"May I have a look at the mark again? I'm sorry if I ask too much though, it's in my nature."

"Whatever floats your goat." You joked

She laughed. "Was that a pun I heard?"

"It indeed was."

"I've got one for you, my child. So how do you call an alligator in a vest?" She smiled, waiting for your answer.

"I have no idea."

"An investigator!"

You two laughed at her terrible pun, as you felt the pain in your back rising again. "You've goat to be kidding me." You could hardly bring out.

"This is not the time.. Haha.. To make puns (Y/N). I still have to explain a lot to you." She tried to say seriously.

"What have you goat to explain Ms. Toriel?" You said, laughing once again at your bad pun. Toriel tried to glare at you but failed and smiled.

"Okay seriously, I wanted to explain you something about that mark." She said with a serious face.

"Goat on." You smiled.

"I will act like I didn't hear that. Now listen closely child. Each monster race has a different power. For example: skeletons have bones to summon and throw with. Asgore, my ex-husband and me have the control of fire as our power. When two monsters make a child, a mix of the parents' powers are given to the child. A monster can give half of its power away by cursing the creature given the power. This is equivalent on giving one quarter of the soul to another. However, one can not have the power of more than one soul." She explained.

"So in other words, I have got half of floweys powers." You said, staring at the ceiling.

"Indeed. We have to practice with them though. I know flowey has strong powers, which makes it even greater and harder to control."

"Sure! When can we do it?" You asked excitedly.

"Probably next week, when you are fully healed."

"Oh okay then."

"Well child, I goat to go, I have to be somewhere else now." She laughed and went out of the door.

She closed the door and walked away. There still was a cinnamon-butterscotch pie on your desk, so you decided to walk to it and eat it. While eating you heard your dog beg for a part so you decided to give him half.

"Because you were strong out there bud." you kindly smiled and fed him half.

After that, you decided to draw a bit more, mostly drawings of the outside world for Toriel, because she hasn't seen any of that world yet.

It has been a week since you fell down to the underground. You were fully healed and you have gotten to know Toriel a little better. Today was the day Toriel had said you were finally been able to practice your magic.

You walked to Toriel, who was sitting on her chair, reading a book about snails. Jack was lying at her feet and was sleeping. You had just eaten breakfast and decided this was the right time to ask her.

"Tori? Could we practice my magic now?" You asked.

"Of course my child. You are fully healed after all. Come with me." Toriel said, walking out the room.

You followed her to the door of her house. "We can practice outside I think. Now go stand by that tree and focus on your mark. It's the best way to activate your power in your case." Toriel explained.

You stood under the blooming tree and began focusing on your mark. You could felt it burning. It didn't harm you, it made you stronger. You could feel the power rushing trough your veins. A black mist surrounded you and your appearance changed. Instead of the usual (H/C) hair, you now had raven black hair. Your usual hoodie changed from white to black and in your right eye lit up a black flame.

You looked at your hands to even see if this was real. Then suddenly, fire spurted out of your right hand.

"Woah, what is all this?" You gasped, amazed by your new power.

"That, my child is what we call a monster's power."

"So how do I use it?"

"Now now, there is no need to rush things. First, close your eyes and focus on your mark." Toriel said.

You closed your eyes and focused on the mark. The same burning feeling rose again.

"Second, concentrate and let the power you're feeling right now slowly get to your right hand."

You focused and moved the power to your hand slowly by concentrating on that point as well. You opened your eyes and saw a little black flame in the palm of your hand.

"Woah. That looks pretty neat."

"We're not done yet! I have prepared this board for you." She held up a wooden board. "The target is this little dot in the middle." She said as she pointed to the dot. "Now focus on the power in your hand and shoot carefully."

Toriel put the board against the tree and stand by you.

You focused again and opened your eyes. You did a battle cry and fired your magic and hit the tree. The tree went black and the leafs fell off.

"Oops.." You giggled with a goofy smile and scratched your head.

"At least we have some practicing to do. It won't be fun if you learned nothing out here now would it? I have always wanted to be a teacher, so this is a good situation for us both."

"I'll give it my best Toriel!"
