"Forgive my staring miss, Niklaus Mikaelson" he said after they stood silently gazing at one another. "Caroline" she curtsied suppressing a gasp when his soft rose colored lips touched the back of her hand. STOP STARING CAROLINE! She scolded herself but couldn't help it, he was tall and solid but not bulky, when they touched his hand was course so she could tell he worked hard, and when he smiled the dimples set in his cheeks made her heart race. "You like horses"

"I love them, is he yours?" she asked watching him nod and close the distance between them and again they stared into one another's eyes. You're staring again mate, what's the matter with you? Niklaus chastised himself as he took Caroline in, waist length sun colored hair, eyes that reminded him of the sky on a clear day; she was tall though not quite as tall as himself, full sultry hips, the silver collar of her dress contrasted perfectly against the smooth skin of her beautiful neck and he didn't dare bring himself to look at her chest knowing that her spellbinding shape would be the end of him. "I should get back, Rebekah or the others may worry" she smiled lighting a fire in Niklaus' chest; he did not wish for the girl to leave. Grabbing the reins he extended a hand to the golden haired goddess elated when she took it and lead her back toward the village. "Mikaelson? Do you share blood with Elijah, Rebekah and Nikolai?"

"They are my siblings, you know of them?" he asked curiously knowing he'd never seen the beautiful girl before. She told him of her meeting them with Ayana, he told her things about himself and his siblings as they leisurely walked hand in hand back toward the festival. "Niklaus! I see you've found Miss Caroline, we worried we lost you. Ayana and mother would not have been pleased with us"

"My apologies Elijah I wondered away, I meant no harm"

"Caroline is safe with me brother" Niklaus cut in missing the smirk on Elijah's face as they continued their walk. They reached the square where the festival was being held but stayed to themselves and continued their chat. He was impressed that though she was a lady she could ride and fight, she was impressed with his whittling skills and excited when he offered to teach her. "There you are, I do hope my brother is minding his manners" Rebekah smiled after finding them still together. "He is quite the gentleman"

"You couldn't possibly be speaking of Niklaus?"

"I am; Do you not believe that to be correct?" Caroline asked seeing Rebekah's shock. Niklaus quickly rose without a word and walked away not bothering to say goodbye leaving Caroline stunned at his abruptness. "Let us dance" Rebekah smiled and Caroline joined her spending the remainder of the night with her new friend. Caroline and Rebekah danced amongst themselves and with Nikolai "do call me Kol darling" he winked at her causing Elijah to smack the back of his head reminding him of his manners. Back at the Mikaelson house Ayana waited with a smile prepared to take her home and promised Rebekah that she would bring her back which she did every time she visited. Caroline and Rebekah thought of each other as sisters and Elijah hovered keeping an eye on them when he was not out with his brothers and father. Niklaus seemed like a cruel dream, nearly a week had passed and she had not seen him again. Caroline could not forget his face, the softness in those blue green eyes made her want to gaze into them forever. Little did she know Niklaus felt the same way, he watched her from the shadows admiring the way her ocean blue eyes lit up like sapphires when she smiled, and her long lithe body drew him ways he never could have imagined. "My dear brother can be difficult to understand, he and father don't have the best relationship so he spends his free time away; mostly at a little cottage by the stream in the woods" Kol offered her when she'd asked. Caroline had only met their father Mikael once and found the interaction uncomfortable and stayed clear of him. Finding some time alone Caroline used her gift and tracked him easily finding the quaint little hut where she found Niklaus along with the youngest brother Henrik. "I'm Sorry Nik, I was only playing I didn't mean to get you in trouble" the small boy sniffed helping his elder brother out of his shirt revealing scars across his back which was covered in blood. "What happened to you?" Caroline questioned startling them both surprising them at the fierceness in her tone. She came closer when neither boy answered staring expectantly. "Don't concern yourself" Niklaus snapped at her but she did not back down. "Can you do me a favor Henrik?" she smiled and he nodded after asking if he knew herbs well. Caroline asked Henrik to gather herbs and water waiting until he was away before asking again. "What happened to to you Niklaus? "

"You need not concern yourself" he snapped again witnessing her eyes turn dark. "I may not NEED to but I am" she growled back shocking him again. Henrik returned quickly and Caroline ground the herbs and mixed them with the water creating a paste instructing Niklaus to lay on his stomach. "I do not need your pity!" he screamed and at her but she didn't flinch. "Good because I'm not offering it! Now close your mouth and lie down" she yelled back glad that he complied. Niklaus manage to maintain his composure as she smeared the paste over his wounds, her fingers like feathers across his bare skin. "You do magic?" Henrik asked watching her closely but she only nodded focusing on her task; after she finished she placed both hands on his back chanting softly to herself before releasing him. "Leave it be and cleanse it off tomorrow. You did well thank you Henrik" Caroline rose and kissed Henrik's forehead before returning to the Mikaelson house unaware that Elijah had been watching. "I like her Nik" Henrik smiled at his brother who was up and pain free. "I think I do too little brother"
