Roger took the patrol when I returned and I went straight to my dormitory. I slowly let the tears fall down my cheek as I changed into my sleeping attire and crawled into bed. I let out a sob before crying into my pillow.
How is it, that one of my best friends, pretty much the love of my life, betray me like that? What have I done wrong?

"Bella, are you alright?" Someone whispered. I opened my eyes and looking over me was Alice and Emmy. Toby was also there, peering over my bed frame.
"Bells, what happened?" He asked.I already felt the tears coming and I frantically wiped my eyes. Toby floated to me and grabbed my hand. "Tell me what happened.." I shook my head and got up. I walked silently into the bathroom and showered quickly. I wiped the remnants of makeup of my face and reapplied.
Without another word, I walked straight out the dormitory and then to the Great Hall. I was getting strange looks as I sat at the Gryffindor table by myself. I could understand why, what happened to the Weasley girl? What happened to her ginger curls and why was it replaced with straight, jet black hair?
No one sat by me as I glared at anyone who tried. After breakfast, I went to all my classes, still not bothering to say a word. And at the end of the day, I found myself at the lake front. Toby was by my side too, playing with the water, making it stream into the air using his 'gift.'
"Seriously. Please tell me what's wrong." He said suddenly, letting the water fall back into the lake.
"You won't understand." I said, my throat dry. He frowned.
"What make's you think that!?" He snapped. I turned to him, knowing my eyes turned red. He looked taken back.
"Because Toby, you are a ghost! You can't feel emotions! You don't know what it's like to have a broken heart! When someone you care about is gone! Gone.." I hissed. He puffed out his chest and looked me straight in the eye.
"I may be dead Bella, but the fifteen years I've been here, I've learned how to feel emotions. I know what it's like to have a broken heart.." He said, strain in his voice. "I know what it's like to lose someone you care about. You weren't the only one who lost your mum that day Bella. It shattered my heart to see her gone.." He said, his voice trailing off. And with that, he orbed away.
I walked back to the castle in silence once again. Why did Elliot affect me so much? We weren't even dating before, and yet I was hearrbroken.
"Who is he to bring me down?" I asked myself quietly. At that moment, I promised myself that no boy would bring me down. When I reached the castle entrance, I shook my head and felt my hair change back to normal. I put a smile on my face and walked back to the common room. I was greeted by Alice and Mylor.
"There you are! We've been looking for you for ages!" Mylor said, putting a hand on my back.
"Sorry, I was talking to Toby.. erm.. family issues." I replied, walking over to the couch. Alice and Mylor followed me over.
"Oh, is that why you've been acting strange lately?" Alice asked. I nodded to her and started on some homework.
***************************
"Hey Bells, have you seen Elliot lately?" Someone asked from behind me. I was on my way to Charms class when someone poked me on the shoulder. It was Teddy.
"Oh, um no, I haven't, sorry Teddy." I replied, trying to get away from the subject. Teddy started to follow me.
"Is there something going between you two?" He asked, eyeing me up suspiciously. I shook my head and gave him a smile.
"I just haven't seen him lately." I said. "I've been busy with Prefect duties and .. Quidditch. I've just scheduled tryouts. And let's not forget I've been studying extra because of O.W.L.S. " I told him. "Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go to Charms." I told him before entering the classroom.
"Today we will continue our work on the Silencing charm." The Professor said once the bell had rung. "Now we have all successfully performed the charm on animals, and today we will be practicing on each other." The class murmured excitedly. "Now give me a second and I'll read out your partners.." I looked around the class to see who my potential partner could be.
There was Alice, Pierre, a couple of other Gryffindors that I don't really associate with, and then Slytherins. Yes, Elliot was in this class, but he was sitting next to Patricia Marshall, the girl he sucked faces with. Every time I had Charms, he tried to catch my eye.
"Ok! Here we go.. Alice and Raven."
"Pierre and Josh."
"Alina and Mary." And then he kept reading the names until there were four people left. And I was freaking out. You know why? Because it was me, Cassandra (Slytherin), Patricia and Elliot. "Patricia and Cassandra. And Arabella and Elliot." I let out a groan as the students began to move to their partners. I shuffled over to Elliot's desk and sat as far away from him as possible.
"Bella.." He breathed. I turned to meet his eye. It was full of pain and guilt.
"Malfoy I already told you, it's Arabella." I snapped. He grimaced.
"Just hear me out." He begged. I looked around as I saw students begin to practice. I nodded to him and he smiled. "I didn't-"
"Silencio." I said quickly. He tried to continue talking but no words came out. "Oops?" I smirked at him. Man, I was being so cruel.
