Jellal

Lucy POV

It hurt. It hurt so much. To see the one I love with someone else. I was walking home from the guild hall, there was a party celebrating Jellal and Erza's engagement. I left after a few hours, no one even noticed. I sighed softly and summoned Plue, I held him in my arms as I walked along the canal leading to my house. I entered my home and sat at my table, my keys in front of me. I summoned Leo, he appeared in front of me
"Lucy everything alright?" I shook my head, he cracked his knuckled
"Need me to beat up Erza" I shook my head "no I just need someone to talk to" he sat down beside me
"I'm here for you Luce...you know that" I nodded then sighed
"I can't do this anymore...to see Erza with Jellal, it hurts..." I looked down at my bandaged wrist, most people thought that I obtained injuries from a mission but that wasn't the case...these injuries were self inflicted. The only way I can deal with my pain, I picked up a blade and slowly drew it across the flesh
"Lucy stop" he gently took the blade from my hand
"I'm sorry Loki...I just don't know what to do"  I stood up "I'm going back to the guild...I think a mission will help" he nodded and disappeared. I left the house and walked back, everyone was cheering as I walked in. I went to the request board and picked the hardest mission  that would take a while. Just what I needed. I told the master and began to walk out of the guild
"Hey Lucy" Erza came over to me "where are you going?" I showed her the flyer, her eyes widened
"Lucy you can't go on this...the request deals with poison ridden plants and human eating monsters!" I nodded
"I know Erza...I just need to get away" I continued walking to the train station "Lucy you'll die..." I sighed "Erza...just go back" I continued walking to the station "please Lucy...don't go" I stopped and clenched my fist
"Why?! Why do you want me to stay?! You have Jellal...you've been ignoring me these past few months!" I turned around "Erza...I want to prove to you that I can handle myself...so I can get you to notice me and not have to protect me" she stepped forward "Lucy...when have I ever-" "Erza stop you won't change my mind" her eyes drifted to my wrist "Lucy your arm" she reached for it but I pulled it away
"Goodbye Erza" I boarded the train and I saw the strong knight that I fell in love with cry as realisation sank in. I wanted to get off and hug her but I had to do this.  

Erza POV

Three months. She's been gone three months, everyone had heard from me but not me. I sighed and pushed away my cake, I felt so sick. I hadn't been with Jellal as often. I was worrying about Lucy, she was hiding so much pain from everyone and I didn't know why. Mira came over "Erza are you alright?" I shook my head "no...I want her back Mira" she sighed and looked away
"Erza...here" she passed me a letter, it had my name on it
"You've had this all along"
"Lucy asked me to keep it from you...until three months after her leaving" I grabbed the letter and opened it

Hi Erza

If your reading this then it has been three months since I left and I haven't returned.
Erza...where do I begin?
Don't worry about me ok? I know your probably sitting at the bar worried  sick about me, ignoring Jellal. Don't. Be with him, be happy and have 35 babies with him...just please forget about me. It's for the best...your probably wondering why I left and the scars on my wrist...well you deserve a answer. It hurts Erza...it hurts to know that you can't be mine and I can't be yours. It hurt to see you so happy with Jellal and I couldn't cope with the pain. Self harm to me was my only escape, but the reason I went on this mission was to prove to not just you but everyone in the guild that I was strong enough to handle things on my own and to actually bring you something.

But if I haven't returned within the next few days and no packages have arrived for you...just live on.

Lucy

I was crying. Full on crying. Jellal had read the letter and was comforting me
"Why? Why did she have to leave me?!" Jellal didn't saw a word he just kissed the top of my head
"She'll come back Erza" I looked at him
"What if she doesn't...what if she died?"
Loki came bursting through the door with the blonde in his arms
"Loki?! What happened?!" He was crying
"She slayer the monsters...all of them but the injuries are too severe she collapsed at the train station"
Wendy ran over and began to heal her, Lucy opened her eyes weakly and held her hand out to me. I ran to her and took her hand
"Erza...I'm so happy I can see your face one last time" I was still crying "don't say that...your gonna be alright" she smiled weakly
"The poison has spread to much around my body...I don't have long" she gave me her reward, her keys and a necklace
"The necklace was made from the blood of the monster I killed and take care of my spirits " she coughed blood landing on my armour, she gently touched my face "this will be the first and last time I can say this...Erza Scarlet I love you" her eyes closed and she was gone. I collapsed to the ground and cried
"No!"

Three years later

I stood over her grave. It's been three years since that day and not a day since then I don't think about her. Me and Jellal married and had two kids Rose Lucy Scarlet-Fernandez and Reiki Scarlet-Fernandez. They stood next to Jellal, it was raining and everyone had paid their respects to their fallen comrade. I placed down a rose and a yellow tulip
"Hey Lucy...where do I even begin? The kids started to learn magic Reiki has taken up your keys can't prise them off him and Rose she takes after her father" I started to cry "at least your spirits will be safe and loved" I touched her grave "I regret everything you know...I wish you were still here and part of my life and the kids...I tell them stories about you, how amazing you were and that you were stronger then me which is true you are the most amazing person to come and leave my life and I only wish you were here to hear that" I smiled "oh who am I kidding?" I looked up at the sky "I know you are watching over me and I know you can hear me...goodbye Lucy Heartfillia"

I stood up and we walked home "good bye Erza Scarlet" I turned around and saw nothing. I smiled 'I knew you could hear me'
