I woke up to a knock at my front door. With my hair still messy I crawled out of bed and walked down the stair and looked through the eye hole. Draco Malfoy was at my front door. I opened it slowly and gave him a look. "How may I help you Draco?" I asked, letting out a loud yawn.
"Sleepy much?" He grinned. I let out a chuckle and invited him in. "I came to talk to you about something, in my opinion, very awkward." He started. He took a seat at the kitchen table and I started a kettle of water on the stove.
"Awkward you say? Well then, spill." I said, trying to fix my hair.
"Fred.. It appears that my son has fallen head over heels for your daughter." He replied very fast. The feeling that overcame me was.. unexplainable.
"My.." I paused. "My daughter.." Draco nodded. "Oh my. This is awkward." I chuckled hesitantly. "Well, what are your opinions on this?"
"Um, well if you are ok with it than so am I." He said. "I mean, who are we to stop them from falling for each other?" I nodded.
"Ok then. So that settles it.. right?" He nodded. "Would you like a cup of tea before you go?"
"Sure, why not?" He replied. I gave him a cup of tea and we sat at the table, talking for a little while. I couldn't help but keep glancing the fading dark mark on his left forearm.
"Um Draco, can we talk about something more personal.. and serious?" I asked him. He nodded his head. "Well you remember the war, what was it like.. from your point of view."
He let out a shaky breath. "Terrifying.. I never wanted to be a part of what happened. But as you know, the Malfoys were particularly erm.. evil. I grew up thinking muggle borns were an abomination. I thought of purebloods as a greater race and thought anyone lower than that weren't worth my time. Now during the darker days of our childhood, I was terrified of everything, but I didn't want to disgrace the Malfoy name. I made all the wrong choices really.." He finished while stroking the dark mark.
"Well mate, it's a good thing that's over!" I replied.
"What was it like.. on your end, you know, the good side?" He asked. I was completely taken back.
"The good side.. well we were also very terrified. All of us were being hunted and track down really. We never knew who we could trust. We had to use every protective spell there was when we were all in hiding." I paused and thought a little. "We were all close to Harry, so we knew we had to do anything to help him and that's pretty much it. We knew that we were losing the battle, but we never gave up. We even lost a few of our own in the battle." My voice trailed off.
"Maddie." Draco said sadly.
"Yea, Maddie. I lost my whole world." I replied with the same amount of sadness.
"And your son too." He added. "Fred I'm so sorry." He put a hand on my shoulder, somewhat comforting me.
"It's been a rough life. But I'm staying strong." I replied quietly. "Plus, my son's still around. Toby!" Draco look confused and for a minute I thought my son wasn't going to come. But a few seconds later, he appeared in a silvery light. "Hey son, how've you been?"
"Dad!" Toby cried. He threw my arms around me and gave me a quick hug. "I've missed you." He paused and looked at Draco, who was quite alarmed. "Oh hello sir. I'm Toby Weasley." Toby introduced while outstretching his hand.
"D-Draco Malfoy." Draco replied shakily. Toby smiled even wider.
"You're Elliot's father!" Toby insinuated. Draco calmed down a little and nodded.
"Why yes, I am. Are you friends with him?" Draco asked. Toby nodded proudly. "Ok Toby, I have a question that is between you, me, and your father. Care to hear it?" Toby nodded eagerly. "Ok, what do you know about the relationship between my son and Arabella?" Toby grinned mischievously.
"I know Bella won't admit it, but she totally likes Elliot! And I can see right through Elliot's mask, he's smitten over her! You should of seen what he did when Bella was in the Hospital Wing! He spent hours conjuring up flowers before she woke up. In all honesty, it was quite cute." He concluded.
"Geez Toby, do you spy on them?" I laughed.
"Well I am a ghost, and there isn't much to do. I might as well entertain myself. Both I and Sir Nicholas find their relationship quite amusing." Draco and I laughed.
"Well then I guess I'll see you more often." Draco said to Toby while standing up. "Thanks for the tea Fred, but I must really must be going. I'll catch you later.
"Goodbye!" Both Toby and I chimed. At least one of the Weasley's will be happy in the future.
