chapter 38 - Len

I sat in a chair with a smile on my face as Neru got pushed into a dressing room. One of the attendants followed her in with about ten different outfits. I gave a small chuckle as Neru yelped as the attendant tried to get her undressed.

"I can change clothes without you here!"

"Darling, just relax. I know what I'm doing."

"Get out!"

The attendant sighed but left the dressing room and sat down next to me.

"She's more challenging than Rin-chan."

"If anyone can do it, you can."

She laughed, "Only if she wants to."

"What kind of outfits did you chose?"

"Are you challenging my fashion sense?"

"Never."

"Good," she said, laughing, "Are you going to get anything while you're here? Anything for Rin-chan?"

"No... I'm just here for Neru today."

"I'm surprised you brought her here."

"Why? Rin loves it here..."

"Yeah, but umm... She's not exactly Rin-chan, you know."

"Yeah, but she's still a girl..."

"Doesn't mean their into the same types of things... I'm going to go pick out a few more outfits for your friend here."

"Thanks Miki!"

"Anytime, let me know if she picks anything out, okay?"

"Yeah."

I had taken Neru to Rin's favorite clothing store, and had asked Miki to help her right away... Miki always helped Rin with picking out clothes, I thought she could help Neru find a few things. Although... Neru didn't seem too happy to be pushed into a dressing room.

"You okay in there, Neru?"

"I can change clothes myself, okay? Gosh!"

"I never said you couldn't," I replied, amused at her childish outburst.

"Hmph."

She came out a little whiles later wearing the same thing we had arrived in.

"I don't get to see you try them on?"

"T-they all fit!" She stuttered quietly.

"That wasn't really my point..."

"Oh."

I sighed and asked. "Did you find any you liked?"

"W-well..."

"Which ones?"

"They're too expensive... I can't afford them."

"I'll buy them, just which ones?"

"I don't know Len... They're really expensive."

"I know the prices here, Neru. Can you just show me which ones?"

"How do you know the prices?" He asked, accusingly.

"I shop here all the time," I said, while my mind added 'with Rin.'

"Yeah... Well I kind of like this one," she said holding up a simple dress among the cluster of clothing. It was plain black, and so very like the one that had been in my dream.

"T-that's nice..."

"Yeah, I dunno though..."

"I'll get it for you... Any other ones you liked?"
