I can never understand why my life is so complicated. Why can't I just have a normal life? A life where your parents actually pay attention to you, where they actually care about you. A life where people actually want to be your friend, not just use you. My parents aren't the best. At all. They could honestly care less about what I do. They never had. That's probably why I am the person I am today. The snotty, rich, misunderstood bad girl, London Clarisse.
The story with my friends is pretty much the same. None of them actually ever cared about me, even to the point where I technically can't or shouldn't even consider them my friends. They only cared about getting to the top rung of the social ladder and my money. Right now the closest person to being my friend is Scarlett Grace. Scarlett is the total and complete opposite of me. She's the queen bee of the school, very bubbly, outgoing, and totally not misunderstood like I am. Sometimes I wish I was her and not me.
Speaking of Scarlett, she hasn't arrived at school yet. This is actually quite surprising, since she normally always arrives before me. A weak shout interrupts my thoughts.
"Please stop!" the voice cries. I sigh and pull myself off the lockers I was leaning on. As I walked toward the cry, I can feel several eyes on me. I stop abruptly and turn around to see that my suspicions we're right. There were several curious eyes on me.
"What?" I growl lowly. Quickly all of the people avert their attention and shuffle away from me, probably to their classes. I roll my eyes and spin back around walking away, this time my pace quicker than before. Soon enough, I'm standing behind a large crowd of students ranging from freshman to seniors. I clear my throat loudly and the people in front of me turn around, confused looks on their faces. The moment they see me, they back away pulling the people in front of them to the side as well. Within a minute, there is a path to the front of the crowd. I walk down the path with a scowl on my face. I don't mind that people respect me, more like are scared of me, but sometimes it's just too much.
"What the hell is going on here?" I snarl when I see a freshman boy being pinned by his shoulders to a locker by a junior. The junior quickly lets go of the kid and spins around. He must not get a good look at who he will be talking to, because he speaks first.
"What do you want?" he snaps. I raise my eyebrows and chuckle. Wow he's an idiot. He blinks a few times and finally gets a good look at me. His face pales and his expression turns to fear. I smirk at him and hold up a finger signalling him to hold on a minute. I turn to the freshman kid, who is also frozen in fear.
"What's your name kid?" I ask him.
"J...Jordan." he stutters weakly. I give him a small smile to assure him I won't hurt him. His fear softens a fraction but it's still evident on his face.
"Well Jordan, if this kid, or any other kid bothers you again, you tell me. The name is London." I say. Jordan nods and looks down at his shoes.
"Now get your stuff and get out of here." I snap, growing impatient. He jumps in surprise and quickly scrambles to collect his stuff, which is scattered everywhere, due to the fact that the junior kid most likely shoved it out of his hands. Once Jordan leaves, I turn back to the junior.
"Come here." I say sweetly. I hear a few whispers when I say that. They're probably guessing what i'm going to do. The junior takes a few short steps closer and gulps.
"Now, what's your name?" I ask, keeping up the sweet girl facade. When he doesn't reply, I shake my head.
"Didn't you parents give you a name?" I question, eyebrows raised. He nods.
"Dillon." he whispers. I smile.
"Well Dillon, didn't your parents teach you that bullying isn't good?" I seethe through my teeth, giving up the sweet little innocent girl act. He whimpers and backs away. I roll my eyes, walk up to him, and slap him. The moments after it is complete silence, and you can practically hear the slap ringing through the hallway.
