The days.

Next morning I was as usual late for school and heard the faint voice of Tia screaming something. I had replied to her in gibberish. She had understood whatever I had said, or maybe no but after that I woke up. I was late. Very late so I doubled up the pace of getting ready. Tia gave me a call to ask where was I. then I stepped off my bike parked it neatly and just reached in time to the first class. Maths, I loved it. Tia she loathed it and had chosen not to take it once she was awarded the opportunity to choose.

At the recess I met her talking to Roy. Roy, he was a very decent and handsome boy. Quite odd a combination and if my sister talks to some random guy during the recess it was totally crystal clear that she must have had a ulterior motive for it. She must have had a moment with him and at that moment he was able to cast his spell on her.

Tia didn't have many instant crushes but her physical qualities along with her mature and sensible approach to every idea or in this case guy was enough for guys to drool over her. Roy was in my maths class. He was a good student and had no records of any misconduct or detention. He was an Ideal guy. But I disagreed, as in my thought perfect was only theory or maybe I was a tad bit jealous.

That day I went home early and switched on my computer and saw that a few of my friends were online on Facebook. Out of them was Patricia. Oh Patricia, I was really awestruck with her looks and all that she did. She wasn't the beauty queen but surely ruled my heart. I felt like asking her what was she doing so I messaged her.

"Hey."

She had seen it just after I had sent it. I was so excited and expected the reply that I had been staring at that part of the screen for a long time before her reply came and shattered all expectations.

"Hey, sorry catch you later."

I sat silent and chose not to reply to that message.

Patricia. She was my sisters friend, well sort of.

I had followed her and had surely found out about her and although I saw that truth that she wasn't the girl for me I just couldn't quite resist her. Truth be spoken, I was so intimidated by her that my heart rate rose as soon as I had a hint of her voice or the slight rosy smell of her perfume.

She made my heart race. I had no hopes of landing her beside me but I still prayed, in case the prayers of a lucky few were answered and I was one of them.

After that I just loitered around till Tia came home and we with our rudimentary skills in cooking cooked up a mystery, both literally and figuratively as the food we made was a mystery to us. The food was decent enough, and while having it we had a few discussions about the classes we had had in the day.

After the food we both wanted to sleep, and went up and I took a can of diet coke with me. Tia had a restless night. One of her haunted and oh so not scary dream had spooked her as she lay in deep sleep. Tia was a brave girl, but age old predicaments and believes have always had a strange and immediate effect on her.

Tia woke up and woke me up too. She had decided that if she was scared of the dark and someone was enjoying being lost in the dream world was an injustice to the person who was scared. In this case she forced me to wake up and called out Patricia's name to get my attention. She woke me up just so that I could sing her a lullaby and she could sleep peacefully.

"I suck at singing. You out of all people know that the best." I cried out after she had placed her request.

"Please my baby. Please." She literally begged for me to sing.

So after a while of silence she asked

"Are going to sing or no?"

I sang. I sang in my baritone voice which never could have calmed a baby, rather agitate it to cry more. Tia was partially asleep as I sang the last of the lullaby I knew. It was 3 in the morning.
