•chapter seven•

•Serene's Pov•
I woke up to my annoying alarm. I got up. I am not going to lie, I was a bit anxious to see the twins today. What if Ethan regrets the whole thing?

I go into the bathroom and wash my face. I brush my teeth and put some makeup on. I put some concealer, blush, mascara, and a little bit of eyeshadow. I lightly curl my long brown hair, and leave it down.

I walk to my closet and pick out an outfit, leggings, nikes, a tshirt, and a flannel. (Pic above)

I walk downstairs to see my mom.

"Good morning honey!" My mom says.

"Good morning, where's dad?" I ask.

"Oh he went to work. Do you want any bre-". She was interrupted by the doorbell.

"I'll get it!" I shouted while walking to the door.

"Who is it?" I asked through the door.

"The president...Serene who do you think it is? Maybe the boys that you go to school with. You know the school we are about to be late for?" I could tell it was Grayson.

I opened the door and they walked in.

"By the way guys, school starts at 8:30, it's 8." I said.

"Oh, hi boys! Do you want any breakfast?" My mom asked.

"Hi Mrs. Matthews, we just ate actually, thank you!" Ethan said.

With that, I grabbed my backpack and we left. We walked outside to my car, and got in. I was in front, Ethan was in the passenger seat, and Grayson was in the back. The car drive to school was really quite, except for my music. I could tell Ethan was just as confused as I was.

About 10 minutes into the drive. Ethan took my hand and intertwined our fingers. It felt right. I looked at Ethan and he blushed. I could see Grayson in the rear view mirror, he looked sarcastically disgusted.

•Ethan's Pov•
I grabbed Serene's hand. She held mine back. I think I really like her. I just don't want to mess this up.

We finally got to school and we all got out of the car. I let go of Serene's hand and just walked next to her. She looked confused, or flushed. Damn it, bad move. I have to make it up to her.

I walked Serene to her locker and then she went to see her best friend Raya. I went to go find Kayden and Jake. I found the two walking into school.

"What's up bro!" Kayden said.

"Hey man." Jake said.

"Hey guys. What's a good way to ask Serene out?" I asked.

"Whoa whoa! You were for real. I thought you were screwing with us. I always knew Serene had a thing for you." Kayden said.

"Shut up Kay, Ethan you should just ask her to go to dinner or something." Jake chimed in.

"Ok I will try." I walked off laughing to myself.

I have most of my classes with Serene, actually all of them except for English. I walked into homeroom and sat next to Serene. She smiled at me. Wow, she was beautiful. I just never really looked at her that way.

Class went by slowly and finally the bell rang. I grabbed Serene's hand and walked outside.

"Serene can I talk to you?" I said.

"Well I'm already here." She said laughing.

"Listen, I really like you. And I'm sorry if I made you feel weird when I grabbed your hand. We aren't dating, and I just need to know, did you regret last night?" I asked.

"Ethan, not at all. I thought you regretted it. And you didn't make me feel weird when you grabbed my hand." Serene said hugging me.

"Ok, well with that said, will you go out with me tonight?" I asked nervously.

"Of course Ethan!" She said smiling and giving me a peck on the cheek.

Oh no...Serene has been on quite a few dates. What can I do to make this one stand out?
