Chapter 10: And It All Came Crumbling Down

Aria POV

It was 3rd period and I hadn't seen Diggy all day. It wasn't like him to skip classes, but who knows? He could be trying to play the guilt card on me since our disagreement. I was a little worried about him though because even though I didn't want to be romantically involved with him, he was still my friend, and I care about him. After 3rd period was over I walked over to Mona's locker to wait for her. When she finally did show up I hoped she would have the anwser I wanted. "Hey Mona." I said greeting her as she opened her locker. "Hey girl. You gonna be waiting for me by my locker from now on?" She laughed. "Nope. Actually have you seen Daniel today or lately?" I asked. "No not at all actually. Why?" She replied. "I don't know, just checking. He doesn't normally miss school."

"I'm sure he's fine." She said closing her locker door. I nodded my head and went back to class. I decided to text him and I did. Alot, but none of my messages got a reply. Maybe he was upset with me but dang. He couldn't text back? The rest of the day flew by and after school Jaden gave me a ride home. I decided to go over his house because I knew he'd do the same for me. Once I got there I knocked on his door, but there was no anwser. I knocked again and finally someone came to the door, and surprisingly it was Mona. 

"Hey...w-what are you doing here?" I asked. "I came to check on Daniel since he was acting a little strange." She said. "Oh, well how is he?" I asked. "Not good." She said firmly. "Why don't you come see for yourself." She said opening up the door. I stepped inside his house and headed to his bedroom. He was propped up on his bed, and I took a sharp breath in as I saw his appearance. He had dark purple bruise-like circles around his eyes. His face was slightly swollen and you could see more bruises since he was wearing shorts.

"Oh my god! Daniel what happened?!" I said running towards him. "N-nothing...to worry...about." He said slowly. As if every word hurt. "Who did this to you?" I asked angry. "How did this happen?!" I said my voice rising. "A-aria....just let...it go." He said trying to sit up. "Daniel if you don't tell me what happened right now..." I said trailing off. "Isn't it obvious." I heard Mona say entering the room. "Isn't what obvious?" I asked. "What happened to him. He got beaten up." "I know that, I'm trying to ask him who did this to him and he won't tell me. "Well he told me, and you want to know why he doesn't want to tell you?" She asked sitting down beside me. "Why?" I sighed. "Because, Jaden did it."

"Why would Jaden do that? Jaden's not even that type of guy." I said rolling my eyes. "Is he?" "Mona, what reason would Jaden have to even do this, assuming he did?" I asked raising my eyebrows. "Hmm....let me think. Jealousy, anger, rage, an-" "Why would he be jealous and angry?" I said interrupting him. "Oh my gosh Aria. You still don't get it? Ever since you told Jaden ,which I'm sure you did, that Diggy was trying to get back with you, don't you think he could of been the tiniest bit upset? Especially if he's tired of trying to compete with him all the time and he could of just lost it." She explained. 

{Flashback Mode}

 "So what you're saying is you kissed him?" He asked with no emotion. "What, no?! I didn't kiss back. Before I could get upset you knocked on the door and I just knew you wouldn't have believed me." I said hoping he'd believe me. He didn't reply and I started getting worried. What if he didn't believe I didn't want Diggy to kiss me? "Jaden, you have to believe me. I yelled at him as soon as you left and told him how I wanted no one but you. I immediately realized I was wrong for hiding him, and that's why I'm here." I finished.

He still didn't reply. "Jaden, you have to believe me." I said my voice cracking. I took his hand and he finally looked at me, as if he'd woken from some trance.

 "I know." He sighed getting up.

"I need to go somewhere anyways." He said getting up. "Where you headed?" I asked grabbing my things. "Nowhere special. Just some errands." He said brushing it off. "Oh ok then. I'll get going." I said pecking him on the lips.

{Flashback Mode End}

Everything suddenly started to make sense. It was very possible that Jaden hid his anger from me, and afterwards when he went to run "errands" he went to jump Diggy. I couldn't believe he would do this. He didn't trust me enough, and even then Diggy was my friend. How could he do this to my friend? "Diggy, I'm so sorry. This is all my fault." I said grabbing his hand. "I'm so sorry." I said holding back tears. "Aria, don't worry about it. I-I...knew what I was getting...myself into." He said trying to smile. "No this is my fault! You're my friend, and I'm going to fix this. I promise." I said getting up to go.

I headed over to Jaden's house, and knocked as hard as I could until he anwsered. "Aria, what's wrong?" He asked seeing the anger on my face. "We need to talk." I said pushing my way in. "Uhmm...ok." He said closing the door behind me. "Why did you do it?" I asked as calmly as I could. "Do what?" "Why did you jump Daniel? Why did you hurt him? He was my friend!" I said finally yelling. "Aria you don't understand." "No I understand. How could you do something like that? I never dreamed in a million years that would ever do something this horrible!" I screamed. "Aria I couldn't trust you! I didn't trust you! I thought that one day I would wake up, and you and Daniel would be together. I just knew it deep down, and I admit it. I lost it. I lost control of my emotions, but I wouldn't take it back."

"Do you hear yourself right now? He's lying down right now in pain, it hurts him to even talk and you want to talk to me about controlling emotions? How would you feel if I got some gang to jump Moises? Hmm?" I asked getting up. "Aria, just calm down. He's fine anyways." He said roughly. "Fine? You call what happened to him fine?" I asked furious. "Look, I'm going to go now. Hopefully I'll calm down tonight, and we'll sort this out tommorrow." I said turning to go. "Are we breaking up?" He asked. "No Jaden, we're not breaking up! I just...I just need to think. Ok?" I said before slamming the door and leaving. I got in my car a million things running in my mind. The anger, the hurt, everything weighing me down at once. 

He said he couldn't trust me. He probably never would. Everyone I knew always ended up hurt or worse. Physically and mentally. Tears were running down my face like waterfalls and I felt guilty and responsible for what happened to Diggy. How could I even call him a friend when I let this happen to him? I was so fed up right now. I stopped at a red light and wiped my tears, but that didn't help. Only more came. As soon as the light turned green I stepped on the gas and was making my way through the street when I saw a blinding white headlights to my left. I heard a loud crash and all I felt was unbearable pain and everything went black.
